Awesome hike. The land bridge makes this well worth it, but hiking along the low river was also nice. There would be difficult areas to cross the river after heavy rainfall, but this is an exemplary short hike.

Excellent hike. It would be good to note this trailhead is directly behind the showerhouse that you will find if you pass the State Park visitor center and take the very next right turn, through the camping area. Start the loop to the right and you’ll be blown away by the views at the end. There are also awesome side trials to take to get great views of the river.

This is a really enjoyable hike. The overall hike is challenging not only in length but in terrain. For perspective I am 55 but in good shape. I have recently completed a triathlon and two half marathons in the last year.

I started from the highway A trailhead on the Ozark Trail. There is an initial climb with several switchbacks as you climb the trial is very rocky. I had trekking poles which I found to be essential. You climb about 1.5 miles until you hit the bell mountain trial. The trial continues to be uphill and rocky for another.7 mile when the trial starts to go through a wooded area. At about a mile on the bell mountain trial you come to the loop. At this point you can choose to go clockwise or counter clockwise. Counter clockwise is a much longer hike about 8 miles to the best camping sites on the mountain. You will reach Joe’s creek at about 3 miles. This is the best water source by far. There are several access points over a mile or so. If you go clockwise when you reach the loop the hike to the best camping is much easier. About 4 miles with limited hills to climb. There is a small pond before the camping on the mountain and another about 1/2 mile past the camping area. I used that one. Not as clear as joes creek but fine with a good filter. The view from my camping spot was awesome. There are a lots of sites to choose. I went on a Thursday night in March. There were two campers on the entire mountain.

Couple of things to note. I saw post where people said they did the entire loop in 4.5 hours. I made pretty good time and did not take long breaks and it took me 9.5 hours total including the 1.5 miles on the Ozark trial each day. Also watch for the Orange ribbons that mark the loop. If you go clockwise there is an orange ribbon the marks the loop trial at about 5.5 mile. Follow the loop to left with orange ribbon. if you go straight will take you to north Bell trailhead.

Amazing place! Looking forward to a spring hike once the weather warms. Beautiful, tranquil, lush and rugged. Ideal place for photography!

Nice little hike with some elevation, but not much in the way of views. Trail was marked with signs and easy to follow. It was a bit muddy, but nothing you can't easily maneuver around. The trail has you go clockwise, which puts the creek views near the end of the hike.

Loved this!! I went from Rocky Falls to the mill and back. Didn’t see any horses but plenty of manure. Also elk droppings. Be sure to take a pic of the flyer before heading out. Several times around the open field areas I lost the trail. The paper gives you things to look for along the way. It was so pretty.

It was a fun trail to hike but me and my son kept getting off the trails because of the other trails if we did not have the app wen would have been lost.

Beautiful run/hike!! I enjoyed every minute of it. I recommend starting the trail from the right entrance (not the bridge); that way you get to do the hike and experience the beautiful views towards the end!

This trail has everything. A view of the spring with its clear turquoise water. Then a steep climb through woods to fire tower. Then great views of cliffs and benches. Then a bit along the river. It really is a trail that covers everyone

Favorite trail in the state. It wasn't difficult, though it had a ton to offer. Great views with elevation and beautiful creek crossings. Plenty to see through the hike.

A great trail for the family

Beautiful, but the trail was poorly marked and difficult to follow in places. Included a copy of the trail map in the photos section.

There was a prescribed burn in progress, so we had to modify our planned route. Half the loop is flat, in the bottoms below the bluff. The other half is on the bluff, up and down from one beautiful overlook to another. Lots of dogs and people. Beautiful trail for so close in to the city.

As of 12/18/17 trail is closed for maintenance.

Loved it! Kid friendly. Relatively flat, so not too difficult for my littles and plenty to entertain everyone. We especially liked the playground area.

This was a great trail for my dog and I! You will have to cross the creek multiple times so wear a good pair of waterproof hiking shoes. This is a clearly marked trail so you shouldn’t have to worry about getting lost. The trail can get rather rocky in some places and there are also areas with a lot of roots across the trail so take some time in those areas.

I ran this for the first time. It was thoroughly enjoyable. Difficult hills and rocks added to the beauty. The water crossing were not. A problem either. When you start running it’ll take just a minute to warm up. All the negative reviews are for people with no imagination and find little discomforts like rocks and flowing water to ruin their time.
One of the most vivid memories of my run was a particular oak tree that stood out amongst many other trees. I can’t wait to run the whole trail system when it’s all green.

I started at the trail to the dam, ended up at a fork to where you could go see the dam or take the turkey creek trail. I went towards the dam and then went down turkey creek a little ways but couldn’t find where you cross the river so I turned around. It is a little rugged but my dog and I made it just fine. I would like to go back and try and find out where the crossing is.

After all the heavy rains we have had, the hiking trail was completely washed out.

Beautiful place. If you catch it when it is dry you can get down under the natural bridge and check out the caves.

This is my favorite spot. So peaceful. If you are quiet and pay attention on this trail you might be able to see the rocky spring wild horse herd. But I ask you to please clean up after yourself. I have seen trash at Klepzig to many times

I have been here twice. I can not get enough of this beauty.

pretty easy hike to the natural bridge from the parking lot. Wear waterproof shoes, you will get wet. I was very aggravated by the trash in the cave. why do people do that. There is bats in the cave, I hope the trash does not disturb them

I love this trail. fyi if you are not up for a long hike there is a parking lot near it.

Beautiful, quiet trail. Cool rocks, nice views from the hilltops, lovely little creeks, and towering pines.

Very beautiful hike once you get down to the creek. The trail comes and goes so we ended up just climbing on the rocks along the creek.

Great trail run!

Great hiking trails through hills and valleys, lowlands, and bluffs overlooking MO River. I have gone off trail into farmer’s field and hiked the woods between other fields to find more solitude and see more wildlife such as deer and a coyote.

Nice little workout. Took us a total of 3 hours. You do have to cross the creek a couple times but we took our shoes off and just walked across.

Great hike! A little over 10 miles, completed it in 4 hours. Had some pretty decent inclines. Lots of creek access for the dogs. Will come back in cool weather.
