felt to me like i was in a park like setting... Not a terrible hike if your just looking for something to do on a Saturday Morning.

It was a cloudy day, but we hit peak fall colors on our hike. I agree with the Moderate rating, mainly for the constant rocks--both stable and loose--throughout the trail. Buried under fall leaves, the loose rocks can make you lose your footing. I liked the openness of this trail--plenty of trees but not a dense, enclosed trail. Seeing the large lake throughout most of the hike was a nice feature. A few places where you climb a bit. Fun to hike out to the rocky point that stretched out toward the lake. Only one part of the trail threw us off, when we didn't see the blazes to keep us on the main trail and ended up on the connector trail.

Hiked this trail twice, both times from the swimming area. First time to the point to photograph sunset. Beautiful & awe-inspiring. However it was dark about halfway back. it's easy to miss the bluff side of the trail in low light & you definitely don't want to try the lakeside trail as it would be easy to get lost in the dark. Realized I was on lakeside trail before going Into the Woods & cut across savanna to bluff side trail. easy hike, tree roots and rocky in some areas. Lakeside is a quiet, peaceful walk that takes you past marina & back to campground.

Trail provides a nice overview of the park as it winds mainly through the woods along the lake, but also passes by a swimming beach and picnic areas. My favorite part is the view from Indian Point. Trees were stunning in autumn.

It wasn't the greatest time of year to hike this trail as it looked as if they did a control burn not long ago. However, with that being sad, it was a nice hike with great views of the lake almost the entire trail. I'm sure this trail would be gorgeous once the new growth of Spring comes in. Be sure to wear hiking shoes though, because this trail is really rocky and has some rugged terrain.
