Great trail. It was well blazed and very easy to follow. We camped next to the creek and it was great. I could see of the trial could get difficult to follow when overgrown, but it's very well taken care of right now and should be the rest of 2018. There are plenty of good spots for bigger and smaller groups alike. Tons of mosquitos out there this time of year, so be sure to bring bug spray if you're planning on an overnight!

The Boardwalk Trail is an easy but interesting hike in Pershing State Park. It was unusually hot when we visited (95 degrees), leaving most of the water levels low or totally gone, unfortunately. I would have liked to visit earlier in the Spring or in the Fall, when the water levels would be higher. We saw a grey catbird and many squirrels, but not much wildlife outside of that. We did see plenty of fungus and florals.

Easy but well maintained

Took some young boy scouts on this trail and it was a very good outing. Not to hard for younger or inexperienced hikers. Lots of nature to see and observe.

We did this trail in February starting from the Pershing SP side. It was well marked with blazes on the tree but once you leave the SP and cross into the CD side you have to look for the few brown pole markers. We never did find that end but we were able to enjoy a nice snack along the Locust Creek before heading back.

Didnt care for walking on a boardwalk. Only used it to get to the Riparian trail. Moderate amount of traffic. Not much to look at.

My experience here was dreadful! We only made it 1.5 miles on this trail before we finally gave up trying to find the trail. It had not been maintained. The view was not something to see either. Would not recommend this for a dog walk... Will never go there again.

Trail followed Locust creek, caught in the spring during wildfloor bloom. Basic trail, secluded. Hard to find a nice camp spot that was not to prone to be wet. Would not do the hike in the summer. Alot of low lying areas. The misquitos would be bad.

The covered bridge was quite interesting. Nice side trip.

Unique trail, a wooden boardwalk over a wetland area. Lots of signs of wildlife, spring flowers, and a big black snake. Worth a stop. Pershing state park is a nice setting, full for fee camping. Fishing and other things to do.

I caught this trail just right. The forest flowers were in full blooom along with the dogwoods. Nice little trail.
