Walking path around ball diamonds. Good for walking the dog,

Simple trail. Should be better maintained, improved because it is a memorial to true heroes.

nice little nature trail..saw deer turtles ..pretty cool..

Great paved and off road trails! A new favorite!

Wide gravel trail through the woods. Well maintained. A couple easy to moderate inclines but other than that pretty level.

Very cool trail about 2/3rds in the shade in July at 11am, nice lake, a cave and natural bridge, it’s mostly gravel and follows and crosses a stream a few times, easy trail with a couple of hills.

Agree with last review. The spiders are out of control. Im not too creeped out by spiders but, it is obnoxious to walk into web after web. Made it 20’ into the trail and walked through about 4 webs.

intense dirt trail. not easy but moderate.

Dog enjoyed it. A bit confusing, we deviated a bit from our main route.

Clean trail. Beautiful view. Lots of traffic.

This looks like it could be a great hike but the spiders were ridiculous today! Reminded me of Raiders Of The Lost Ark! Had to abandon trip. ☹️

very very exciting trail to bike on. warned to not ride when wet out. its hands down the best mountain bike trail in Kansas city. if you bike its like a rollercoaster. for experienced riders only. trail is actually 3.2 miles long.

I hate to give this one 3 stars, since this is my local neighborhood park. But seriously, the trails are very narrow and sometimes overgrown, there’s a fair amount of trash along the trails, and they don’t appear very well maintained. That said, the park is nice and is a good place to get out of the city, while still being right in the middle of the city.

Majestic elevation, not for the weary of heart.

The waterfall pictured in this listing is on the Old Kate Trail (at the same location), _not_ the Whitetail Trail.

Hiked this with a friend. We loved the main trail and the fact that there are plenty of options if you want to make the hike easier or more difficult. You are sharing the trail with mountain bikers, so be prepared to step off the trail to let them pass.

Really fun and pretty! Nice short and well maintained. Great Sunday morning hike if you’re looking for something quick just outside the city. We saw a woodpecker at the top of a clearing. Way cool!

Will be coming back! Beautiful beautiful beautiful!!

Excellent! Especially on cool mornings in the springtime and

Great little trail, lots to see and explore. I saw a lot of different wildflowers that I don’t see other places & ran across a lot of wildlife too. Plenty of benches for those needing frequent rests. Not heavily used as far as I could tell but well marked and maintained!

Well-established trail, novice trail user appropriate. Water, shade, free parking all available at the trailhead. Perfect for a break from the urban/suburban environment without a looking drive.

Not a bad trail, pretty uneventful, but definitely worth spending the time to walk it.

This Trail is a gravel road. I'm not sure why it's rated as moderate, unless it's referring to the two hills you have to climb on a gravel road. It would be a nice walk during the spring or fall, to open and hot for the summer. The trail is not in the woods, it is very open. You do do pass by a lake and walk along a creek for a minute. Will probably go again, but not until Fall. It also is a good exercise Trail, a running trail and there are exercise stations all along the path.

Beautiful hike, though would recommend having the trail downloaded as it is not well marked. We made a wrong turn and ended up on the wrong trail. Beautiful place to get lost though! Lots of wild life and overall a great hike.

Good workout, beautiful scenery.

Very easy to follow. There is a map at the beginning, showing different paths and their distances. This trail acts as a memorial to retired and fallen Kansas City Police Officers and offers a view of the training academy.

I truly enjoyed my hike there!!

I used this wide, paved trail for the first time biking from my home near Liberty, MO to my son's home, which is west of I-29 and south of Hwy 152, which is about a 17 mile one way trip. This part of the city has a number of bike friendly streets and this trail connects nicely with them providing safe biking for a 5 mile stretch adjacent Hwy 152. The trail is situated between the highway and residential areas or open fields. You will hear highway noise on most of the trail, but it doesn't really detract from the enjoyment of the pleasant corridor. There are trees bordering much of the trail so when the leaves are on, there should be plenty of shade. Where the trail intersects major streets, there are traffic lights and crosswalks. The west end of the trail provides access to a outdoor shopping center with restaurants.

This is a very nice place to ride, a few hills to manage, and it could be a little longer. perfect for evening walks. or jog. However it is nice and smooth, and large portion is shaded.

Hike this trail quite a bit, as it's close to my house. Several different options based on length and skill level. One of my favorite places close to the city.
