First good hike of the year and it was great. my 4 year old went and made it on her own most of the way!

Lov it!

Short, very enjoyable hike. Views are beautiful!

Hughes Mountain offered some gorgeous views. We were worried about navigating the trail since so many people got lost, but the Missouri Dept of Conservation added a few trail markers of pine to help lead the way.

Very peaceful, I was the only one here. Pretty much all up hill on the way there, but the plus side to that is that it’s pretty much all down hill on the way back.

No one here on a Saturday late morning. A little bit of views once you get near the top, but pretty mild. Could be slick when wet. There is hunting allowed here in season, so be aware if you want to go for a hike when people could be hunting.

Absolutely worth the uphill hike. Views are beautiful, this is a photographer's dream. Just be sure to take the right trail on the way down. You have to look for your trail and a log bench on the right otherwise you will take the obvious trail that goes straight... into nowhere.

Walking on rocks that are 1.6 billion years old. Incredible geological history.

Fairly short, but beautiful hike. The trails footing is manageable. Pay attention to the end of the trail in the wooded part of the hike cause it's hard to find again.

Fantastic geological formation.

The rare honeycomb formation on the plateau makes this hike worthwhile. Otherwise, it is a short, unremarkable hike. Nice views.

Trail is well defined. There are two trails that split off, so you have to make sure you stay on the right trail. When you get to the top, the views are beautiful. The trail took about an hour to walk all the way to the top. Worth it. Bet time of the year to be in the area with all the trees changing colors. Also, there is no sign the says anything about "Devil's Honeycomb", the sign for the trail head reads "Hughes Mountain Natural Area, Missouri Dept of Conservation"

Views are amazing. Easy hike even with little ones.

great hike awesome views when you get to the rock mountain very peaceful.cant wait to do it again

It is a bit of a work out, but worth the hike.

Fantastic views! Make sure you go to the very top even though it looks like the trail ends.

loved this!

Loved it such a short easy hike for some magnificent views!

I go here a lot. There are only 3 other places in the world that compare to the unique rocks you will see here. The others are The Devils Causeway in Ireland, and The Devils Tower in Wyoming.

Cool trail to hike. The rock formations were beautiful and the view was amazing.

A great trail to experience! Wear good hiking shoes for climbing on the rocks.

Great little trail. Easy elevation changes, simple trails and spectacular 360 views for those adventurous enough to do a bit of freestyling.

Interlocking basalt columns are the main highlight of HUGHES MTN. Hexigon shaped rocks fitted together similar to giants causeway or devils tower (ireland and Wyoming)

Not to mention the near 360 degree view of the surrounding area, make this an all time favorite; most views like this come with a 2 plus mile hike.

Visable trail is half mile and then freestyle your way to the top, another half mile. That half point has a pole of some sort; im assuming there was a flag at one point.

You will want to mark this spot on a gps or mapping program cause you will be circling for a while on return if you dont... Which is why this gets a 4 instead of the 5 i would love to give.
