just did the small loop. Not marked very well. Met other hikers who did the full loop and second half was marked much better they said. It was pretty but lots of poison ivy.

Great trail and so close to so many potential riders and walkers.

If you like eating spider webs for breakfast and hiking through no mans land than this is the trail for you! There were so many spider webs that I ate more than I could count, literally had 4 go into my eyes and had spiders on me when i got back to my car

This is a great trail. It is a good practice trail for biking the Katy Trail, but this has more dips and hills than the Katy. Also, this has plenty of parking as well as stops around restaurants, play grounds, QuikTrip, and it is safe. You can ride as little as a mile or do the whole thing down and back for a 28 mile ride. One of the best in the area.

I would really like to find the loop. we followed the trail until it went into the stream bottoms and then started climbing muddy bluffs. never have found the "trail" and I would love to know where the campsite is. I think it would be a great backpacking weekend with a campsite. if u know where it is please let me know. Kent@hubbardservices.com

I feel Amazing,I can't wait to pick up where I left off. It's like a book u can't put down:-) lol

This is not in George Owens park. This is the Lipton conservation land next to Santa Fe Trail Park and the Unilever plant.

to whomever tried this trail and attempted it and didn't try hard enough to navigate it... your loss if you turned back. there is a full on camp site free to camp at and the small trail next to it is really fun hints the bluffs. the people who tried it do it again... you won't be disappointed. you can take the easy route with a bike to get to the camp site. ahead of that it's all hiking.

Gravel trail through brush. Nothing scenic.

Drove 30+ minutes from midtown KC to check this out and was disappointed. Poorly marked trailhead with tiny sign that is hard to notice from the road. Got all of 50 feet down the trail and went through at least 6 spiderwebs. Trail was overgrown and unmaintained, making it useless for a summer hike.

Great nature center, grounds and trail.

Absolutely awesome and beautiful trail! We started at the trailhead off of Lee's Summit Rd. and went up to about 23rd St.. Most of trail is wooded and very beautiful, even the sections around the business areas were immaculately manicured and were concrete which was really nice. Also loved that the trail never crossed any roads and was really smooth the entire way and really enjoyable. Loved the emergency call stations placed throughout the trail also. Cool that there are sidewalks which branch off to eating and shopping areas also. Very awesome ride!

I absolutely love this trail, it's the best one in the whole Independence area. I've grown up biking and hiking this trail my whole life. You can plan a section or you can make a whole day of it and go the distance. If you park at either end of the trail and complete the round trip it's around 30 miles so hydrate and bring snacks. Take you time and enjoy!

Great rock formations and views, good workout!

just opened app and it looks like a well put together app. can't wait too put it too use. thanku.

Nice trail, it gets used by quite a bit of people. There's no question of where the trail is. It is not a loop trail so you'll have to either park a vehicle at the start and at the finish, or you'll have too turn around and hike back.

This is my favorite off-road biking trail in Eastern Jackson Co. The new 1.5 mile or so addition of trail West of Lee’s Summit road makes this a great out and back cycling trail that will give a little more than 30 miles of riding for a day. You’ll see some wildlife along the way including deer, squirrels, bird varieties, and turkey once in a while. It winds through open prairie, wooded forests, shopping areas, and over and under bridges. It’s a must-do in Independence, MO!

Nicely maintained trail in the city with many entry points. This is an easy trail for walking and biking without big hills or uneven surfaces.

Awesome trail! Several entry and exit points, one is near a McDonalds another is near Cold Stone for example. People we encounter who are walking, running and riding have been friendly.

This is a fun ride that is rated easy, which it is. The trail is well planned out and maintained. It also offers wildlife and beautiful scenery.

I've been running this trail for years and I really like the sections between 24hwy and 78hwy. That stretch is very wooded, great views of the little blue river, small bridges and even a path under the railroad. Any more South from 78 is very open and exposed and kinda boring. If you're running, expect to see a lot of cyclists which means they probably won't give you the time of day as to smile at you or nod their head. Once you get over that and simply enjoy the scenery, it's a great trail.

I finally completed the Lil blue trail.
when I started riding again, I guess I was a little snooty, i didn't want to get my bike all dirty, so I avoided the gravel trails in our area. what a mistake, I put a little wider tire on my hybrid road bike. This trail i would recommend this to anybody just starting or just getting back into riding. There are several reasons I would so highly recommend this trail to novice, nowhere else will you see so many riders without helmets, or just regular clothes, i didn't see one person that reminded me of a NASCAR, you know what I'm saying. I also am pretty sure that I saw a guy with overalls on drinking a beer while riding. I like down to earth people, oh yeah this trail is almost completely flat.

Great year-round trail for biking or walking. Mixed landscapes and easily accessible from many areas.

Mostly flat with mixed gravel and pavement. Nice spot for when you need to clock a longer run. Trail has several people walking, running and biking and I generally feel safe.
