There are some brochures at the trailhead that give some insight into the history of the area so I gave the trail an extra star for the educational aspect. It is definitely a lightly used trail.

This trail is an easy trail for children. Mostly a woodland trail with a creek that runs through the middle of the trail loop. The small waterfall was enjoyable.

Fun hike. Found a couple of morels along the trail. A black and white warbler and red-eyed vireo posed for us. The overlook at the top of the hill overlooking the mill and valley was beautiful.

The old mill is a highlight of this short hike. It sets next to a spring that averages 81 million gallons a day. The bridge over the creek has long since washed away so it’s an out and back trail now.

nice little trail with plenty to see

Very pretty area

For as short as this trail is, it's packed with awesomeness. The area itself is amazing. I could sit and look at the spring all day. Great place for family pictures. So clean!

Simply put... beautiful place!

Love this river! Can’t get enough

Great little trail.

Didn’t do the overlook trail yet but there’s a smaller trail you can take just around the spring. Going back!! Stunningly beautiful place. Very well maintained and preserved.

Beautiful area. The flood in April 2017 knocked out the bridge, turning this short trail into a longer one (see recording). There are lots of cool little caves to see and the hike now takes you along the creek and returns you to the parking lot. Very easy walk.

Only floated this once.
During the week, late summer.
Almost alone, it was great.

One of the most photographed mills in the Ozarks.
Caught it one time with a thick fog over the spring.
Very cool place !!!

This pine forest is far from virgin... it has been logged several times. Only a very few "old growth trees left. They are using conservation through logging as their way of "protection ". Very sad.

Beautiful blue water natural running spring around 81,000,000 gallons per day flows out of that spring. There's an old red Mill which was built in 1893

Beautiful, easy walk around Alley Spring and mill. Stop in and tour the mill while you're there!

We really enjoyed our trip. Fairly easy hike. It had some switchbacks at the beginning that were a little tough being out of shape. There are copperheads so be careful and stay on the trail. I would hike there again.
