Lots of mosquitoes, trail was still wet but not slippery even though hadn’t rained in awhile. At trail head there is nature center and restroom facilities. Some nice scenic overlooks.

Beautiful trail with probably 1.5 miles of trails not marked on app. I uploaded proper map. Great elevation. Many spots to sit. No traffic

Excellent trail to cross the Missouri River to gain access to the Katy Trail. I took the Katy Trail to downtown St Charles and enjoyed a couple of pints before heading back.

Decent trail and sanctuary for ticks. Ends about a 1/4 mile in to some open field. We got pretty muddy along the way, but nothing compares to the amount of ticks you’ll pick up and be covered in. The ticks alone will make us never go back again.

Hiking

If you're looking for an easy hike with lakeside views, you'll enjoy this trail. If you want something a bit more rugged, however, this is not the trail for you. This trail was made by a tractor, so much of the trees and brush near the trail have been cleared out, and it just doesn't really feel like you're in the woods.

Surprisingly steep, but doable. The view was well worth it at the top. Beautiful trail in the snow & loved examining all the different animal tracks in the snow

If you like walking through an overgrown field this "trail" is for you. 2 ft of grass on top of 4 inches of mud for half this trail. I had over 30 ticks on me after this and my dog had over 100. This ones not for me.

Horseback riding

I ride this a couple times a week, it’s roughly 3.4 miles, not 2.8. There are some limbs & spots that could used cleaned up, but alternate routes are easy to access. The first couple times I rode I had wished things were better marked, but all in all it’s a good trail for a quick conditioning ride after work.

This trail starts in Creve Coeur County Park and provides a way to access the Katy Trail. The entire trail is paved with enough room for two bikes across in each direction. Bikers use this trail more than pedestrians. While it is mostly flat, there is quite a hill to climb at each end, so it gives your lower gears (and legs) a nice work out. It follows alongside a highway with plenty of traffic noise. Taking the trail across the bridge over the Missouri River puts you at an access point to the Katy Trail. There is a nice point to stop midway across that bridge and sit on the bench to watch the river roll along.

Had a nice time here with my Mom and daughter. Everyone's first time walking the trail. It began to rain as we made it up the first leg. Found some shelter under a few pines until it let up, however we were fairly wet. Took off again and 40 yards later found a perfect lean to structure MDC built at the top of the hill. Now we know.

Enjoyable, short hike with steep but short climbs...pretty views of rural Missouri and the migratory bird preserve. Can extend it out to about 3mi if you want to. The first part is stroller friendly but thereafter there are lots of steps.

Overgrown and littered with trash. Only was able to go about 1/4 mike before turning back and was covered in ticks. Doesn’t look like the trail ha been maintained in years.

The trail was beautifully maintained with a wide walking path for the most part. If it was summer, you would not have much cover as most of the path is out in the open. We really appreciated the clean restrooms at the trailhead! My only concern was the total lack of signs. Once you began there were numerous choices and absolutely no way of picking which direction was the listed 5.2 Moreau Creek Trail. Many times there were three ways you could go, two indicated horse trails but never was there a marked hiking trail. It was very confusing and had I not had this app I might still be on the trail

There is some forest on this trail, but most of it is in the sun so, it can be a hot hike or horseback ride in the heat of summer. The trails are wide mown paths at least 6 feet wide. There is a bench in the northwest wooded section where you can sit and rest for a while. A few interesting things to see along the way and one or two pretty views.
