Not exactly a walk through nature. trail goes through a neighborhood, along the road and past some storage facilities. did appreciate benches tho. overall not bad but I don't think it's one we will do again.

very scenic, but to busy for me!

Great family trail

I loved this hike encountering different areas and terrain. Even made the little climb after the creek crossing with two dogs on leash. Very peaceful.

One of my favorite Rockbridge hikes.

Beautiful trail

Very rugged terrain. There are several areas of the trail that have deep horse ruts. It would probably be impassable if it was muddy. Trails were somewhat marked. Lots of hills. Cross over several creeks, or the same creek several times. Camped alone a portion of Smith Creek. Saw a few other campsites along the way. Good for a one-nighter close to home. Will probably go back and explore the area again and spend another night. Decent stay.

Nice area but not an easy walk by any means due to horse ruts

Simple walk around a prairie.

Gave a 3 because of the uniqueness of the sink holes. Otherwise very ordinary.

The sink holes were fascinating. You were never out of the site of one. Nice loop from Conner's cave, around the hill top back to the cave.

Peaceful trail. Loved the long yellow grass flowing in the wind. Would love to come back in the spring.

Very nice grassy prairie area with some variety of scenery including small pods, numerous trees, shrubs, and habitats. The trail is wide and easy. Very nice for a relaxing stroll. Peaceful are as this trail is a little ways alway from the hustle.

This is a nice, easy-does-it kind of trail. It is by no means moderate and very easy, and would be good for kids. For grown-ups wanting a more challenging hike, not so... For example, the posted time at the trailhead is 2 hours and 45 minutes - I hiked it in 1 hour and 15 minutes.

The trail is well blazed (yellow), clear and well-kept. If you hike it counter-clockwise, most of the trail is downhill, save for the last ¼ mile or so back to the parking lot.

The one down(ish) side to this walk-in-the woods is the piles of doggy poo on the trial. Dog people, please, have fido do his business off-trail, for heaven’s sake!

Favorite trail at RBSP! Challenging enough to get a good workout, but still simple enough to enjoy my time in nature. I love how far from civilization I feel on this trail, very peaceful.

Great trail in the middle of town. This is a connector to the KATY trail. The trail is closed 1 mile down the trail to KATY. Looks like they are putting in a new bridge. They do have a detour in place with maps and signage supposed to be finished march 31,18

We went in December and it was beautiful! The trail on the west had some rough patches but nothing terribly difficult. No ticks! The trail was easy to follow and follows Gans Creek on the west side. Since the leaves were down there were some great views.

Good Trail. A little hard to follow. I came in June, and the wildflowers were amazing.

Great trail for walking, biking, and hiking. Connects Albert-Oakland Park with Cosmo Park. The only major obstacle is a short section on sidewalks.

Very easy hike with well-groomed trail. Some pretty wooded sections, but altogether underwhelming scenery. Good for a very short little jaunt and for walking with dogs.

Moderate level was accurate. Saw a lot of different plants and trees. Different terrain though out the hike.

Grindstone nature area trail is not a loop, I got to Maguire Blvd and either it's not clearly marked how to continue or you just better turn back. This is about 1.5 miles into the trail. This is after you have crossed under the old 63 and interstate 63, not my idea of quiet morning nature walk.

Very cool workout trail in the middle of town. Very easy hike/walk/run/bike. Either paved or a wide gravel path. Benches and work out equipment along the way. Not much for sights tho....

Hiking was a challenge at times only due to poor trail markers. Good cliff views and camping spots.

Nice walk through the woods. Did after Gans Creek trail so was anti-climatic.

A good trail that gets some traffic due to the proximity to Columbia. We did the loop on Bikes, and it was a bit rough for an old timer with a non-shock Stumpjumper with on/off road tyres. However, it was a fun outing. Met about 4 people the entire length of the trail. Agree that the new markers might clear up some confusion about the trail, as it was pretty well blazed.

Great walking trail but watch the map! The crushed rock trail turns to a dirt trail to complete the loop. If you don't pay attention to the map, you will miss the turn since it's not marked. We walked a mile before I looked at the map and realized we missed the turn. We never would found the loop without the map since it wasn't marked and you have to get off the crushed rock trail.

Not really a review, more of a question....interested in doing this trail, but don't want to if it's too rough from the horses. Any recent feedback on this?
