Easy hike to start off a full day of exploring the park. The path is paved which is nice. It was definitely the most crowded area of the park. Interesting to learn the history of the castle from the placards.

Was disappointed that you can not get close to the castle. But it is probably due to lack of respect from others. There is amazing views from the ruins. We did see a lot of vultures.

Love coming to this place! Beautiful all year round!

Trail heads and trail could have been better marked. The rocky awnings were pretty and overall, the trail was a fun, moderate hike.

One of my favorites at Ha Ha Tonka, for the variety --cool boulders and climbs, then rushing water when you hike down to the confluence.

Was disappointed to find that the ruins have been fenced off and you can no longer go through the "rooms" and see the views from the "terrace." My last visit was 5+ years ago, so I had been looking forward to exploring inside the castle. Views from along the ridge are great. Two turkey vultures soared right above me and I thought were coming straight for me!
The trail itself is paved and accommodating for lots of people/stollers/etc., but it's not the highlight of the park for me.

I connected to this trail from the Colosseum Trail and did not do the full wooden staircase trail on this trip. I always marvel at the beautiful, clear water and the turquoise blue of the spring at its origin.

Very cool features, esp the Devil's Kitchen cave and Promenade features. I wish the blazing had been better--I wasn't sure I was going the right way when crossing the Post Office Road and moving farther from the parking lot. The trail seemed longer than the posted 1.3 miles (but maybe I was just tired since this was my last trail of the day, after 4 hours!). I cut it short and ended up retracing my steps back to the parking lot. I'll definitely return and do the full loop.

The spring is stunning!!!

You can see the castle on the cliff from this trail. The spring water is really blue and clear. There's a cave that's difficult to get to, off the trail, but well worth it if you can make the very steep climb up and down.

Really cool short trail. Awesome rock formations, tall bluffa, and a small cave. Would definitely do it again.

After hiking 6 miles in the forrest, this seemed a little touristy for my liking. Clearly the concept of leave no trace did not catch up with humanity in time and was evident in the sings telling you to stay on the path and the reasons for doing so. None the less, the lighting was phenomenal and lent it's self to the castle ruins and panoramic views nicely. The trail was easily accessable and nicely paved for those with disablities. The side trails lent a nice off the beaten path if you wanted to get away from the tourist asspect.

Great for a short trail run, or a warm up to a longer trail. Clean and free of rocks on the trail make it easy to jog and look around and enjoy the view.

This is one of my favorite trails at Ha Ha Tonka State Park. I hiked here regularly in the early to mid 1990's.
The best features are the Devil's Kitchen cave and the Promenade. I gave it 4 stars, instead of 5, because the hike through the Savannah area is usually kind of boring, aside from a few wildflowers. However, there are occasional deer or fox sightings. Sometimes in Winter or early Spring, you can get a glimpse of a bald eagle soaring overhead.

Very easy, wheelchair accessible, and great lookout views.

Very rough and steep terrain. lots of spider webs and the trail gets very narrow at times. Did see 2 white tail deer and some nice views of the hills to the south
