Smooth and simple trail, beautiful view of the valley through the trees

All asphalt trail. The views were good at the top and the ruins were interesting, but it was overly crowded and didn’t provide the out in nature feel. We actually did this trail twice because the first time we got caught in a ridiculous downpour and didn’t get to finish, Although it was really fun for us and the kids to run in a driving rain. It was surreal to hear the rain coming before it hit. This was actually fun for us and the most memorable occurrence on our vacation.

So beautiful! The Spring is gorgeous. The steps are rough and some of the trail is pretty rocky.

A short walk on a paved walkway to see a mansion that Snyder stared building in 1907 but died in a 'car accident' in 1908. His sons completed the mansion in 1922, which eventually burned leaving the stone walls.

We had a great time! The trail is very rocky and uneven at some parts and there was a part of the trail where we climbed 316 stairs. We had our eight kiddos in tow aged 2-16 and they thought it was cool and adventurous.

on Castle Trail

This was a very busy area and we were unable to get close to castles.

Fun, manageable, and gorgeous. Safe railings, plenty of natural trails, water scenery... lots of fun! Great for novice hikers.

Super pretty trail with stable stairs and railings that wind through the trees. Views of rocks, water, spring. Very pretty and manageable trail. Will return to finish a few others in the area. Con: we wanted to stay longer and hike more but could not navigate via trail markers...green and white but not where you would think they would be placed. Tons of turnoffs and we ended up just doing an out and back after about 5 miles.

Trail to castle was paved, clean, heavy traffic. Castle was an old home - not from the area so I was hoping for exploring castle ruins. Beautiful area. Water fountain and maps available on this run.

Very muddy and poorly marked (green trail markings are hard to see with the leaves). Trails are narrow and busy, which isn’t good if you need to social distance. I recommend continuing on the Spring Trail instead.

Stunning views at every turn! The trail to Natural Bridge was awesome with even more spectacular views. We went Mother’s Day weekend and it was very crowded, but still enjoyable. Didn’t get to see the spring area, but will definitely go back to explore more. Highly recommend!

Awesome trail with beautiful views!! The castles are great and the Ozarks are beautiful. The trails are paved in a lot of areas but the areas that aren’t are narrow. If you go on the natural bridge trail that connects to the blue spring trail be warned there are a lot of up steps. On weekends it does get crowded.

Really enjoyed this trail. It was a first for my daughter and I. She enjoyed it more than I thought she would. We really liked the cave. It was very busy, but people were friendly and kept their distance. Next time I think we’ll add on other trails to make our hike longer.

Lovely trail with beautiful rock formations! Rocky, but moderate enough for our 6-year-old.

Great trail that offers an easy path for novice hikers, 300+ stair set leading down to Ha Ha Tonka spring, and a small concrete “bridge” leading to Ha Ha Tonka Island. We felt that the island offered the best views and terrain. Wear hiking boots!

Rough terrain but was an overall good hike. All trails needs to update their map and Ha Ha Tonka needs to choose another color other than brown to label this trail with.

A little trail but will get your heart pumping. Very rocky

I loved this adventure. Little disappointed they have the castle blocked off you can’t walk in the castle anymore you have to admire from the outside only.

I now know why they named it Boulder, that trail is rocky as can be very different from the other Ha Ha trails. And it is not labeled very well as I got off trail through what I’m assuming are old trails. It must not be trafficked very much because I walked through about 20 spiderwebs. I wouldn’t recommend

Good hike, some ones, a lot of steps, a little view and easy to follow.

They kind of shut the castle down so you can’t go inside anymore. Small fence around the property so you just get a couple of pictures of the outside and walk around it. Other than that it’s completely paved and there is a small parking lot next to it if you don’t want to take the stars to get to the top.
