Beautiful views but can get very busy and crowded. I have not done the whole loop at once but have done multiple sections at different times.

Love the water and city skyline.

I don't know how this is rated moderate. My opinion is that it is easy.

Nice path around lake with separate biking and walking paths. Always plowed in winter, so a nice place to walk when lots of snow. Busy on days with nice weather.

One of the best running paths I’ve ever run on. The scenery is great, the path is long- great for marathon training! Running, walking, roller blading, bicycling! In the summer, in canal park you can rent different types of bicycles. It is very dog friendly!

Excellent paved walking trail. I live close by and go often. Great for children to ride bikes. Beautiful except there are no unbroken views of nature. Cluttered. Preservation of unbroken natural views is not taken into consideration when placing signage, art, benches (which often face ugly views) and other manmade features. The trees in this oak savanna are distressed and poorly managed. Buckthorn, an invasive species that engulfs and kills forests is poorly managed. Dogs are not allowed on the footbridge or the island but everyone takes them over there anyway. Dog poop is problem at this park and on the trail but nothing is being done about it.

Very nice Snowshoeing trail. Follows the river before a good climb up. About 4 miles in length.

Paved and kept clear of snow during winter. Sculptures. Enough activity to feel safe yet did not feel crowded. Variety open grassland, lake trail and woodland. Not so much hiking as much as walking trail.

A OK

I hike this trail often. There can be a lot of people near the main parking/lodge/river area but otherwise it is great.

A lovely walk/run around the lake! Beautiful scenery with the bluffs and lake to view while you exercise.

Great views on leisurely ride

This lake has been officially renamed to its Dakota name: Bde Maka Ska. Busy on beautiful days, but two paved lanes - so bikers don’t have to dodge walkers and vice versa. It has one of the loveliest views of lake in the fairground and the city in the back.

This is an amazingly flowy trail!!!

FYI, this trail is called Willard Munger State Trail, not William. This may cause confusion for people looking for it.

The 2 miles of straight paved path was a bit lackluster but still a great view!

Wonderful easy trail between the Minnehaha Falls and Mississippi River. Also very close by is great off-leash dog park.

Truly beautiful hiking area. There are some areas that are busy with people and some that are more quiet. Be a responsible pet parent and only bring your dog if they are good around lots people and other dogs. Bring your own water, no fountains.

Walked the WeWalk Marathon on this trail from St Bonifacius 13.1 miles west past New Germany and back to St Bono. Can’t seem to get that section to show by its a great flat trail. Not many benches or toilets.

Beautiful scenery. Nicely shaded. Well paved the whole way.

not a lot of people out, entirely paved, freeway noise obvious for half of the walk. some parts very wooded.

Wife dropped me and my bicycle off in Brainerd and picked me up in Walker. It's great as a point to point bike ride as it takes you through many small towns and lakes in the heart of Minnesota. Walker is a pretty cool little town and I would recommend staying overnight at Chase on the Lake. It's a shame there aren't better restaurant options though. Once you get close to Walker there are a few other trails that branch off, so you might want to freshen up on the map in that area before heading out. Also the trail is in pretty good shape, but there are so many trees that there will probably be a decent amount of debris, so just be mindful because a simple acorn could really ruin your day.

Rode the section from Waite Park to Collegeville yesterday. Very nice ride. Stopped at Bo Diddleys in St Joe for lunch. Delicious! Looking forward to doing it again when the fall colors pop.

I really enjoy the lake walk (the 3.5 miles by the waterside). I recommend going early enough to see the sun rise.

I love finding unpaved trails.

This is not a hike but a long walk. Only 3 miles of the trail is along the water the rest is along a main road with lots of traffic. Don’t think I’ll do the part not along water again.

Fun trail! Fountain to lanesboro is mostly downhill. Nice easy ride!

Brought my 2 year old and we used the stroller on the paved trails. We saw 3 deer! Very pretty area and a great playground where he made a couple little friends. We came too late in the season for the beach but it looks really nice.
