Sweeping prairie views, peppered with small lakes, rolling hills, and wooded paths. Take your bikes or simply your feet for a half day of enjoying the outdoors. All paved, and mostly open, so bring sunscreen and water.

‘Tis is a great place to take a brisk walk with the family and the dog. The path is paved. On the north it’s in the open air—sun, wind, what have you—and the south is through a wooded area. We can walk it at an average pace in about 45 minutes. Parking is available on the north and west sides. Super easy to access. The lake is a little smelly in the summer but it looks like they are doing rehab to improve the health of the lake. Nice spot to do a quick loop.

A nice place to walk in the Twin Cities. It’s a bit more low key than Bde Maka Ska, Harriet, etc., which I like. The main downside is the air traffic.

Great views on leisurely ride

Scenic and well maintained urban path

This lake has been officially renamed to its Dakota name: Bde Maka Ska. Busy on beautiful days, but two paved lanes - so bikers don’t have to dodge walkers and vice versa. It has one of the loveliest views of lake in the fairground and the city in the back.

FYI, this trail is called Willard Munger State Trail, not William. This may cause confusion for people looking for it.

Walked the WeWalk Marathon on this trail from St Bonifacius 13.1 miles west past New Germany and back to St Bono. Can’t seem to get that section to show by its a great flat trail. Not many benches or toilets.

Beautiful scenery. Nicely shaded. Well paved the whole way.

not a lot of people out, entirely paved, freeway noise obvious for half of the walk. some parts very wooded.

Wife dropped me and my bicycle off in Brainerd and picked me up in Walker. It's great as a point to point bike ride as it takes you through many small towns and lakes in the heart of Minnesota. Walker is a pretty cool little town and I would recommend staying overnight at Chase on the Lake. It's a shame there aren't better restaurant options though. Once you get close to Walker there are a few other trails that branch off, so you might want to freshen up on the map in that area before heading out. Also the trail is in pretty good shape, but there are so many trees that there will probably be a decent amount of debris, so just be mindful because a simple acorn could really ruin your day.

Rode the section from Waite Park to Collegeville yesterday. Very nice ride. Stopped at Bo Diddleys in St Joe for lunch. Delicious! Looking forward to doing it again when the fall colors pop.

I really enjoy the lake walk (the 3.5 miles by the waterside). I recommend going early enough to see the sun rise.

I love finding unpaved trails.

I run this paved trail 2-3 times a week, really like it. It s nice fairly flat route. Twice around is just under four miles.

Nice park . Great trails for biking. If you bring a dog, check out the dog park in the middle of the park. Some great hiking for you and the pup in side it.

This is not a hike but a long walk. Only 3 miles of the trail is along the water the rest is along a main road with lots of traffic. Don’t think I’ll do the part not along water again.

I really enjoyed this trail, great scenery and peaceful.

I don’t know if this was just a coincidence or if it happens all the time but I encountered several bikers and people with dogs that lacked common courtesy. Many bikers did not yell “on your left” or warn me in any way as they came up behind me and nearly knocked me over. Also came across two people with dogs not on a leash and the dogs came charging directly at me and my dog! Again, I don’t know if this is typical, but definitely got the impression that the people who frequent this trail think they own it and don’t have to show any respect to others who use it. Disappointing.

Fun trail! Fountain to lanesboro is mostly downhill. Nice easy ride!

Brought my 2 year old and we used the stroller on the paved trails. We saw 3 deer! Very pretty area and a great playground where he made a couple little friends. We came too late in the season for the beach but it looks really nice.

I live near this trail and ride it most the year. The run from Albany to Blanchard Dam is the best. Albany to Freeport is the worst. There really isn't any challenges to the trail as a whole. It is all railroad grade except a 1/4 mile portion just North of Albany towards Holdingford. Well maintained with minimal traffic throughout most the trail.

Not bad. Some steep areas up to falls over loose shale but not difficult at all. Nice views on the way up. Very crowded with tons of parent sherpas.everywhere. However it was Labor Day weekend so that definitely contributed to the crowded trails. Makes for a good short, family walk..

Well kept, easy to access, plenty of parking. I ended up just staying in the off leash dog area, which is contained by a fence and is huge.

Maybe I am biased since I live very close by and do this trail often. I like this trail a lot, goes next to one of the biggest off-leash,fenced dog walks. Good thing I like about this trail is that you can do the longer loop or the shorter loop depending on your mood! Has views and access to the creek

Nice place to stretch the legs, I just prefer less people and noise (lots of airplanes).

I was pleasantly surprised with this trail! Had just a lovely time with my pup. There are some really neat sculptures throughout the loop. There are also little off-shoot paths that go deeper into the woods and I had fun exploring those too. Overall very happy I went and can’t wait to go back!

Love to ride it, great scenery and easy going.
