Easy and nice loop around pike island. Hiking shoes a must right now as it’s pretty muddy and slick in areas. Enjoyed getting out today and excited for spring. Easy parking as well. Make sure to get vehicle day or annual pass and have it out on dash.

Has some nice jumps, very fun trails. Bathrooms, water bottle fill up, rest area, & a practice trail loop(just so you can see if you can handel the difficult trails) all by the parkinglot of this trail!

Easy walk, very cool to see the confluence of the rivers. Great bird watching, too.

probably the best and one of the busiest now trails in the Twin Cities if you go here after work on a weekday there's a lot of bikers the path is fairly new in great shape and has spectacular views of the Mississippi River in St Paul at sunset

Nice little suburban trail - very underused but kept up nicely. On a few spots you can see a road or some houses, but for the most part it is private and has lots of different types of trees and scenery. Almost makes you forget you are in a city. The loops are broken up into 3 trails so you can mix and match depending on how long you want to hike or how much time you have. There is a park at the trailhead with parking and portable stalls. My kids enjoy this one, pretty relaxing hike. Good spot to see some wildlife. Occasionally you will see some bikers on the trail but everyone has been respectful. I have gone back a few times, it's a nice little hike.

Love this place for hiking. Unfortunately, people don't realize how beautiful their parks are, or never visit them.

These trails are gorgeous but most of these trails are only for mountain biking. If you want to hike here, for your own saftey, check the trail maps.

I love the proximity to the city and the different looping options on this trail! I often see wildlife in the less-travelled “interior” segments.

On the hiking club trails, I would say this is a HARD trail, the elevation changes are steep. It’s a great great hike and a ton of fun but not sure I would say moderate. Still an all out beautiful and fun day even in the middle of November!

I thought that this trail was amazing! The views were great, hills were fun to hike up and I even saw a Whitetail doe in the brush! Could be a bit longer, though...

Really nice trail. Signs can be confusing for some of us! Different length loops in Park. Pretty consistently hilly compared to most Minneapolis trails, but not too difficult. Nice change!

Great trail for biking, walkers have their own trail. Do this when I’m short on time and want to get an exercise ride in!

Went with 4 adults and 4 kids ages 10 and 6 and everyone had a great time. Took a little under an hour. Near a gift shop and little history center.

This trail system is amazing and beautiful, and they are making more trails all the time!

Was a nice walk in the woods

Easy trail. Trail is 100% paved now. Based on posted pics wasn't what I expected, but still enjoyed the walk. Also this is a in and back trail not a loop

Great trails. Always a great experience!

This is a wide trail throughout with many short hills. Maps and benches are sprinkled along the way. Lovely fall hike. There’s one stretch where 35E is super loud... wish there was a sound barrier there. But I was still able to see lots of critters and even three deer across a pond! The hike took me an hour and I had to rinse a little mud off my shoes after but I’ll be back.

Went up there with my 8 year old and 13 year old. Took awhile but we all did it. Was beautiful

Great nature walk with some elevation changes, but easy overall. It's been well maintained and was easy to navigate.

when I went there were a ton of bikers that will run you over. I was hiking with the dogs and won't go back.

Too bikers: people on foot always have the right away.

Not difficult, but a good hike!

Easy trail with great views as you travel parallel to the St. Croix. About a third through there is a beach you can relax at and even do a little bit of swimming, wave to our WI neighbors or any passing kayakers. Trails halfway point is at outlook Nevers Dam, you have the option of turning around and following the river back to the trailhead or taking Nevers Dam trail then to old cottage trail to complete the River Trail Loop. If a longer hike is desired you can continue along the river and add 1.5 miles by completing River Terrance Loop.

Two Suggestions: Check trail status before you make the trip. Can be muddy or washed out depending on the weather. Also if it is between April - August bring the bug spray!

Beautiful views! Easy trail to hike, my dogs loved it.
