Great trail! Paved with lots of walkers, bikers, and skaters. Fairly well lite. Some parts of the trail are in rough neighborhoods. Great commuter trail as it’s easy to access and travels through many places.

Cute, short, right on the river and near downtown Minneapolis. Can be pretty busy. Urban.

This is an amazing trail that offers a rustic hiking experience in the middle of the city. Along the way there are scenic overlooks, secluded beaches, waterfalls (well, glorified stormwater outfalls, really), and some cool old WPA-era infrastructure. There's a main path that is partially paved; there are also multiple dirt side trails if you want something more challenging or that hugs a little closer to the shoreline. It connects at various points with West River Parkway Trail, so you can make it as short or long as you want.

Easy peasy, just avoid the crowds of the weekend and holidays. Great cross town connector.

The only downside for me is how crowded it gets. Visit Father Hennepin Bluff park on the north side of the bridge.

You ride along Minnehaha Creek,it’s very pretty.

Nice views and great place for running/walking.

The beach along the trail is beautiful with soft, soft sand. Dog friendly. Great view once you get along the shore.

Hiked the entire thing... there are some really great spots along the way, but the trail also passes through some rough neighborhoods, and I didn't always feel safe walking alone. At one point, I passed by an apartment complex that overlooked the trail, and some teen was throwing random crap off the balcony at bikers.

Lovely 10 mile walk! We started at Minnehaha Falls, then followed the Mississippi up to Lake Street Bridge, crossed over, and followed the Mississippi back down to Ford Parkway and cross back over to the Falls. Nice paths, pretty houses, and the river in constant view!

Utterly wonderful bike trail, walkers and skaters also may join but a bit flat for hiking. Wide, well-maintained blacktop trail. Crosses from just west of the Mississippi in Minneapolis and heads out past Lakes of the Isles, Calhoun and on. We often hook up with the Cedar Lake trail and head back to St. Paul through downtown Minneapolis, but one can continue through Hopkins and out to Lake Minnetonka. Connects with the Grand Rounds trails, so there are many options to extend your ride.

Twin Cities hikers and bicyclists, please post more reviews of good trails
