The trail is much longer than stated and is not accurate to the map online. The trail is around 6 miles long due to modifications to the trail.

The hiking club trail and waterfall trail were awesome! On the map online, it showed that you could get to a trail that went right along the Minnesota river. The online map is wrong. Use the maps at the park. We tried getting to the river trail and went almost 2 miles through mud, fallen trees, and wet ground before we gave up. It was a great adventure but not an easy one!

The big loop around the Bison enclosure is what I’m imagining this is talking about. We started out trek at the campground. We followed the hiking club trail and both forks of it were blocked by an overflowing body of water (it rained heavily that morning). Seeing the Bison up close and personal more than made up for the lack of ability to complete the loop.

We passed the “bottom” part of the falls and saw that the trail from parking —> falls on the left was “ closed”. Falls were beautiful, took our obligatory photos and went up the stairs. Trail to the right was closed— trail to the left (rough, earthy, unpaved) had no sign indicating so— so we went for it.

If I am commenting on the proper trail— this part was AWESOME for a beginner hiker trying to test their limits. Two trails alongside the cliff of the creek— we took the higher road. Immersed in nature- went to the end of the park where the main road made itself present and turned around. Tried to take a different trail on the way back & it soon became covered in leaves. Wet mud underneath. We slipped and we crawled and we made our way back feeling accomplished and invigorated. Will definitely be back with more supplies and sturdier sticks for stabbing the mud to pull ourselves up the hillside.

Only a one star so I can mark that it has been closed as of March 18 due to erosion issues. Per the park website.

Great trail for biking, running, and walking. In the winter it’s plowed from YMCA to Weagel Park (1.75 miles from Y). From Y to the edge of Rapidan is 6 miles. Beautiful trail and paved the whole way.

Beautiful scenery, great for an easy day out or taking the family somewhere!

When you arrive you have to pay a fee to ride the trails, but it's worth it. This trail is very technical. It has the perfect mix of technical and climbing areas. It would be a great track for a rider who has experience riding in technical difficult trails.

Great wooded trails along a viewable hill just south of Mankato, Minnesota. I rode the trails there, as well as the nearby Red Jacket Trail, quite often when I lived in Minnesota. The trails are accessible through the ski area, and you will need a permit from their ticket office to ride the trails. Definitely a great place to ride. Some weekends will be crowded, due to the local college students from Mankato State University.
