Easy and nice loop around pike island. Hiking shoes a must right now as it’s pretty muddy and slick in areas. Enjoyed getting out today and excited for spring. Easy parking as well. Make sure to get vehicle day or annual pass and have it out on dash.

Enjoyable hike. Hiked 4.5 miles with my dog. Trail is mostly a horse trail. So dogs can't use it. Not sure what policy is when trail is closed to horses. Will be messy when snow melts so suggest doing it before spring thaw. Saw two bald eagle. Would suggest going in on Grimm road and using parking access there because of paved parking. For this trail follow the Kings trail signs. Sure it would be beautiful in spring and summer also. But remember dogs are not allowed on horse trails. Great overviews and a few picnic tables on trail. Will be going on my do again list. ALWAYS WALKABOUT!!!

This is one of my favorite trails. It is very peaceful and serene. Good for all skill levels and something for everyone. You are surrounded by nature and wildlife with the options of different paths.

Nice, easy trail. We seen a lot of wildlife. The turkeys were in the tree's. We also seen eagles and deer.

Beautiful early spring hike

It was winter so some melted snow was a damper but lovely paved trail for winter dog walking.

Nice quiet trail with a great view of the river valley

We love Wood Lake! The boardwalk is a highlight, as are the great horned owl who live in the park. Very easy walking trails, but awesome to have access to in the city.

Easy walk, very cool to see the confluence of the rivers. Great bird watching, too.

probably the best and one of the busiest now trails in the Twin Cities if you go here after work on a weekday there's a lot of bikers the path is fairly new in great shape and has spectacular views of the Mississippi River in St Paul at sunset

Incredible hike but I wouldn't classify it as easy, definitely more in the moderate range. Lots of hills and climbs, very rocky paths. Our kids had no issues and we all enjoyed it, but it was definitely an adventure. Amazing scenery and nature.

Nice little suburban trail - very underused but kept up nicely. On a few spots you can see a road or some houses, but for the most part it is private and has lots of different types of trees and scenery. Almost makes you forget you are in a city. The loops are broken up into 3 trails so you can mix and match depending on how long you want to hike or how much time you have. There is a park at the trailhead with parking and portable stalls. My kids enjoy this one, pretty relaxing hike. Good spot to see some wildlife. Occasionally you will see some bikers on the trail but everyone has been respectful. I have gone back a few times, it's a nice little hike.

Fun, quick, scenic

great ski trail and race course.

The trail is used just enough so the snow isn't so bad. Wish that portion along the roads was better.

I grew up in these woods and love coming back here with my dog to hike.

Love this place! Had a great time with my kid here. Be a responsible parent and watch your children. There are some dangerous places a child could end up if not supervised. Well kept trails, and very beautiful scenery. Highly recommend!

Very beautiful place tucked back in some acres. The trails are nice, expect to see horses. Also, expect to overstep horse manure. There is a nice pavilion to host party's, weddings, etc. Also there is some neat history on the trails, and a graveyard you can hike a steep hill to. Plenty of camp space, and many local areas also to stay.

Love this place for hiking. Unfortunately, people don't realize how beautiful their parks are, or never visit them.

There is a trail there. That's about it.

Had an amazingly beautiful ski today. Trail was groomed perfectly after our big snow.

I would come back! Campers very friendly, camp site is watched. Didn't see any animals or birds during our hiking. I love the woods.

A small park that has a nice short loop along the river that I use for trail running loops or nice park to bring a dog for a walk, or just a nice hike through the woods, I also use for cross country skiing, but is not groomed.

The trail is pretty steep as far as trails in the Midwest go. It's beautiful at the top, your staring at two different countries and the largest freshwater lake in the world, how can you beat that?! For less experienced hikers I would advise to just take your time, it's not that bad.

This was an awesome hike for winter, if you walked inside the actual gorge. The river is mostly frozen over and provides a completely different kind of hike. It wasn’t a hard hike, but wasn’t for the faint of heart as sometimes as you could see the water flowing under the ice. Wearing ice cleats helped a lot too.

We went snowshoeing (you can also hike or cc ski) through the Ogantz trail in Jay Cooke state park. Most of the trail went along the river with some beautiful overlooks while the last of the loop went through the rolling woods. Trail varied from easy to moderate.

Very serene and relaxing walking trails that meander through woods and prairies. Also, has a nice lake. Great place to contemplate and meditate.
