Very serene and relaxing walking trails that meander through woods and prairies. Also, has a nice lake. Great place to contemplate and meditate.

Great hike for kids. Nice flat trail. Pretty views along the river. We hiked it Black Friday this year.

Peaceful, beautiful, lots of wildlife, and great in every season. I rarely see another human while I am there, and I love that!

It was so beautiful! It’s worth it! Especially when we went during this fall season! Gorgeous view and peaceful noise! People around us were friendly. The walk was good!

Easy trail with great views as you travel parallel to the St. Croix. About a third through there is a beach you can relax at and even do a little bit of swimming, wave to our WI neighbors or any passing kayakers. Trails halfway point is at outlook Nevers Dam, you have the option of turning around and following the river back to the trailhead or taking Nevers Dam trail then to old cottage trail to complete the River Trail Loop. If a longer hike is desired you can continue along the river and add 1.5 miles by completing River Terrance Loop.

Two Suggestions: Check trail status before you make the trip. Can be muddy or washed out depending on the weather. Also if it is between April - August bring the bug spray!

Loved all the different flowers, plants and trees. Beautiful nature walk. Had a beautiful 2.5 mile walk. Will definitely do this one again.

Great hike around the the lake. Mostly love the peninsula like area around the halfway point of the lake

perfect easy hike with kids

I've been here before on the northern part. This time I went to the south of the visitor center and went on the Deer Valley loop. I had to walk on pavement for about 1.5 miles to get to the actual hike, but it was worth it. The terrain varies from relatively flat/sloping meadows to steep ravines. I really enjoyed the southern-most portion of the trail. My total distance on foot was about 4.4 miles.

The trail is labeled, and the map is decent. But the trail markings and the map markings don't match, so I had to look at the map pretty often.

I brought my neighbors' dog, and she had a blast. It's busy here on weekends, but I only saw a few people here today.

was great for 30-60mins walk.

We went there for our first time today. It has awesome hiking trails. The scenery is beautiful. We saw a few deer and lots of pretty flowers. I definitely wanna go back. The camping area is cool too.

Very nice - lots of lake views!

Nice easy run. Through marshes and wood. Some dirt path and some wood pathways.

We could not find the cross country trail. The maps were confusing and the trails were poorly marked. Most of the trails appeared to be poorly maintained. We ended up following a different route on an asphalt path that was relatively straight and easy to travel.

This was a fun trail. I went with my children, ages 15, 11, 7 and 4. It took us two hours to complete the loop. We took a couple short breaks and a leisurely pace. The trails were well maintained and well marked. Some parts were muddy but easy to navigate around. We'll definitely come back again.

fantastic, quick, and scenic

Really pretty. We've been here before but never on a loop with much shade. This loop has some nice shade and is a fun terrain with a lot of intermittent small hills. Very nice hike with dogs. We only saw one person with a dog along the way on a Saturday.

Great gem between St Peter and Mankato. Best to go early spring before the mosquitoes come to life. Great trails. Big open field for tossing a frisbee or football. Sand volleyball. Fire pits all over.

My go-to trail for convenience, scenery and ease. Lake-side most of the trail. Expect some mud in the spring and after rainfalls, but not too bad.

A good place to get out. Good trails and clearly marked maps on trails. Lots of different ways you can take and switch up your rout.

Quiet and peaceful with little streams and farms. It is a flat paved path which I would definitely rate as easy. I'm not sure why it was rated as moderate. It's a straight path so you have to turn around and go back if you're walking.

This is an easy hike in the city of Lakeville. It is a year round trail that is open for hiking and horses in the summer and x country skiing and snowshoes in the winter. There's also a snowmobile trail that goes through part of the trail.

I've been hiking this trail for years. It's always clean and well maintained.

very well maintained hiking trails, and great canoe routes with portages for bwca training

really nice walking trails. Well paved and maintained. partly shaded, was really nice for walking with our dogs on leash. Nothing too exciting or scenic, but very nice. there are several streams that go under the trails but no access for the dogs to get a drink or Wade.

Great out state biking. Quiet country scenery. Too crowded in the city. My wife and I have traveled it countless times.

My wife and I spotted a Scarlet Tangier this past weekend. Rare for this area. Beautiful with lots of wildlife. Don't go there as often as we used to. Nothing against horse's (were animal lovers) but they seem to be taking the park over. Just like Crow Hassen.
