We love Wood Lake! The boardwalk is a highlight, as are the great horned owl who live in the park. Very easy walking trails, but awesome to have access to in the city.

probably the best and one of the busiest now trails in the Twin Cities if you go here after work on a weekday there's a lot of bikers the path is fairly new in great shape and has spectacular views of the Mississippi River in St Paul at sunset

Not fun for mountain biking. Not bad if a hiker though

Love this trail!

Beautiful fall day! Woods and prairie! Ponds and sunshine!

I liked this park and would come back. I didn't do the whole trail - just the northern loop. The hiking surface was mostly sandy soil and mostly went through forest, sometimes abutting wetlands. This portion of the trail requires crossing a road twice.

The trail was fully submerged at one point (probably not a big deal if you're on a horse), but I found a way around by balancing on a log and walking on what may have been a beaver dam. (This part was actually really fun.) There were also a few downed trees that required climbing over.

There are no facilities here. And no maps of any kind, anywhere. There are trail markings at some intersections, but without a map I didn't know what the markings meant.

Dogs are not allowed here.
Also, this network of trails is for horses, so there will be manure.

Great park with a good amount of trails to walk. Lots of animals and things to see, nice spots for picnics. We saw wild turkeys, turtles, frogs, and butterflies. No dogs allowed :(

Note that the Holland Lake trail access off Cliff Rd is closed until 11/30/17. Start at Visitors Center and follow sign to Holland Lake. Once you hit trail closed signs follow the loop on your left. Nice hike. Mostly quiet on a beautiful September Sunday until you get near the Visitors Center.

Easy trail to hike, moderate at best. It could be challenging for X/C skiing. Wide open trails. We needed All Trails to keep us on track. Ski trails run all over the place with what looks like some new ones being added. Very nice setting and worth the trip. Only once nice view and the a small waterfall.

We were Geocaching first before starting the recorder.

Easy and quiet, a favorite little trail!

Beautiful oasis in Bloomington! Loved all the different trails!

Great park, only downside is they don't allow dogs on leashes! I most likely won't go back because I walk with my dog and can't bring her. So unfortunate because it's such a beautiful walk.

Great place to spend an afternoon. The water has fish that come right up to the foot boardwalks, and there is plenty of different vegetation throughout the park. No dogs are allowed which is a shame BUT they want to cause as little change in the natural ecosystem as possible, so please do respect that rule.

I would also recommend bringing a lot of bug spray and shoes that you don't care much about aesthetically - the trails can be a bit mucky depending on the time of year.

Overall, it's a lovely place and is located right in Richfield so if you're local, you don't have a long ways to go.

Outer loop of Saint Mary's Ski Trails. Beautiful and challenging with great shade coverage.

This trail was surprisingly very enjoyable! I say surprisingly simply because it is a mere mile or two from hwy 494! The trails were well maintained and we had a chance to be among the trees on some trails and in the wide open prairie on others. We saw a large snapping turtle, turkeys, frogs and numerous birds in the short 3.5 mile hike. Definitely would do this again and explore some of the trails we missed out on!
Also a major plus was the trail doesn't allow bikes, so no worries of someone flying by behind you!

Nice hiking trails , great hike with your dog :-)

Nice trail overall. A bit hard to walk in some areas because of sand.

Good to hike if you live nearby. Good views of the lake, businesses nearby so you can walk to downtown Duluth and get a coffee. I use this trail a lot because it is by my house. It can get crowded in the summer so I normally go at odd times like at night or when it is raining. Makes the lake look really pretty and you get a first seat view of the crashing waves

I did this trail and it is very easy because there is no elevation change. Fun things to explore along the way like old boat house structures

Takes a lot less time than you'd think. Lots of winding through the woods. Beautiful in the fall - golden foliage. Only one or two steep parts in the trail.

Love this area!!

Very nice leisure trail system with excellent signage as there are a number of loops within loops. Trail winds around a number of lakes and ponds.

Nice trail but a lot of mud right now.

Too much horse poop and too wide open vs wooded

It was the perfect hike for our family as it was our first family hike with Brody (age 3).

nice clean trail with a couple big hills. some rocks and roots but mostly a clean trail.

This has to rank within the top 5 or 10 best drives in the U.S. The endless rivers and streams that drain into Lake Superior from the NW of highway 61 is incredible. Almost too many to name. Many have hiking trails that go up river from the highway that are worth exploring. The view out over the lake is hard to describe, and anyone who has lived near or on the ocean, would have a hard time believing this was a fresh water lake. It truly is huge. And it displays its many different moods depending on the weather. I last did this back in the summer of 88' and the water on the lake was like glass. You don't get that very often. If you have never done this drive, you need to put it on your list. It is one of our countries best!! From Duluth to the Canadian border.

I use this trail all the time. My family & I love how peaceful it is. The scenery is great. And we frequently see wildlife near the trail.

Beautiful, secluded, wooded trail in the heart of the city. Very light traffic; I felt like I had the whole place to myself.
