Pleasant hike in the woods around swampy lakes and ponds. Trails are well-maintained and well-marked. Paved trails are intermittent in western side of park. Slight elevation changes. Park is in the suburbs near MSP so there is decent noise from the highways and airport.

Took my 12yr and 9yr niece yesterday! We reached the top but I didn’t look at this app beforehand, I just went on a recommendation. Def have good hiking boots with ankle support and bring water and backpack to have your hands free, and bug spray they got bad as we were getting out. Fun hike!

it was a bit busy for our liking but still a wonderful time

on Cannon Valley Trail

Great trail from Cannon Falls to Red Wing! Many spots on the trail you can see the river and the surrounding bluffs. Had some open areas with lots of wild flowers to enjoy also. We even had a deer cross the trail right in front of us!! And there were many other birds and wildlife that was present too

This is such a fun hike! Most of the trail is dirt. Tons of birds, frogs, trees, and flowers to look at. It's well located and doesn't feel like you're in the city at all. It was pretty well used on a Wednesday after work including a running club that I had to dodge (but they were very nice). The trail is very well marked and let's you add or subtract from your route to make it as long/short as you want.

Pretty trail, pretty flat. Current conditions are a bit swampy and muddy (bikers beware) and the cement bridge at mile 1.8 is currently closed (due to flooding perhaps), but many were crossing anyways.

it's a decent trail, watch out for baby snakes along the way. in the summer, you'll be ganged up by mosquitoes
the worst part is there aren't enough signboards near the parking lots to get you started on a trail, so it's very confusing.
the trails themselves are good and peaceful, well maintained and mildly challenging

Great trails with lots of diversity. Harriet is quiet and shaded. Calhoun is loud and busy. Lakes of the Isles is open and has a dog park. My favorite is Lake Harriet where I “forget” that I’m in the city.

This is a Workout! 1:30 out. 1:10 back. 6.3 miles of an obstacle course of rocks and roots.
Enjoying the summit with your family...priceless.
A nice place to enjoy snacks with a view.

Trails are not easy to navigate by using the maps provided. However, it is a loop...so you’re not lost.

Very well maintained and very popular. There’s steady traffic on the weekends, but be sure to bring bug spray lots and lots of bug spray. There’s stagnant water through the valley.

Nice flat, paved trail and shaded most of the way. I rode from Faribault to Waterville on this trail and it’s was a fun ride! Somewhat scenic with the lakes near the trail too. My goal is to ride this trail from Faribault to Mankato one way, 40 miles approximately

For the area, this is a nice, leisurely trail- our favorite in Glendalough State Park. In some spots, it could be marked better and it is expectedly buggy, but the lake is beautiful and there's hardly any traffic. Deer and other wildlife are plentiful!

As good as it gets this close to the city. Wonderful secluded trails with beautiful wildlife and a great gazebo for a mid hike water break.

This trail is one of my favorites.

it's a great hike, but can definitely be busier near the lake if like me you like a less busy place to relax and watch wildlife.

Start at Woods Creek, walk along Devils Track, and up to the summit on Pincushion and you will not be disappointed.

Fun hike, went with my parents and our dogs. Fairly easy trail for everyone. It took 2 hours to reach the summit, 1:45 to come back down (at mom's pace). Doable in 1:30 in and 1:30 out. Trail is well kept, downed logs were recently cleared.

It rained the night before so the bugs were very bad until we started accending. Make sure to bring bug spray. Was very cool out so there was lots of fog, so not much of a view at top for us. But it cleared a little on the decent so we got to see the summit as we rounded Whale Lake.

Skating St. Mary’s is difficult but rewarding. The trails are well groomed and maintained and the variety of hill climbing, down hills, and flats is great, though challenging.

This is also a nice summer/fall hiking trail, though the mosquitos can be pretty nasty. It’s one that I come back to as much as I can.

might have been all the rain we have gotten. it’s pretty overgrown. But it’s a good trail, lots of berries to snack on, a few places for pictures. lots of other trails that aren’t on the apps map. overall pretty easy trail.

Isolated loop through Deep Portage Conservation Reserve and Learning Center. There are a large variety of paths for hiking in the summer and cross country skiing in the winter. The bugs were not bad for the area during the summer.

They also have a great nature center with programs throughout the year and exhibits about the native wildlife that is open to the public.

We had a wonderful time on this hike with our son who got his 9th highpoint. My husband hiked this about 40 years ago so it was a trip down memory lane for him. I have been doing the stairs at work for 6 weeks as training for hiking and this was a pretty strenuous hike for me. It took us 4 1/2 hours with rain for the middle section. Lots of mosquitos and lots of rocks and boulders. The view was lovely at the top. My son who is in great shape rated this as easy. My husband who is in pretty good shape rated it moderate and for me in my late 50s it was moderately hard. There were about 20 or so other people on the trail some with young kids.It was a great way to spend the 4th of July.

There are numerous trails for walking, a foot bridge that crosses over the Leaf River. There is an interesting section of one of the trails that goes over a swamp on sections of docking. There are signs along the trails that help identify the trees and signs that tell you about the many historic sites along the trails. The trails are all well kept up. Super park to take a hike!!

The Pincushion Mountain trails are great for skiing, but a little boring for hiking--wide grassy trails. There are great views from the overlook. The trail along the Devil Track River is much more interesting.

Looks to be a pretty nice trail, but as of today (6/28) the trail is completely submerged under at least a foot of water.

The trails are in decent shape but could use some more upkeep. It is a great place to take a hike in the woods without having to go too far out of Burnsville (if you live locally). But, the trail maps are not helpful and it can be easy to get turned around if you aren't careful.

I’m a fan

It’s a quick hiking trail that is immersed in the woods despite being in the city. It’s a beautiful walk/hike.
