Loved this hike! Trekking poles very helpful with the irregular terrain.

Great hike and the views make the uphill worth it! Trekking poles are a necessity.

We started at Lake County Road 301 which added about 2 miles for 16.2 miles round trip. The hike is awesome! The bridge is out at Encampment River but was easily crossed. Be prepared for a TON of mud right now! It was messy but that only added to the fun!

Great trail. It was easy to find and well marked. Beautiful views!

Had a great hike here with my dog on Saturday. The weather was perfect for a fall hike. Many different trails so things can get a little confusing. The harder of the trails are very rocky and severely overgrown but that just adds to the challenge. The fall foliage was just starting so the scenery was spectacular. I will do this one again.

Agree with the other posters that I wouldn’t classify it as easy. A decent amount of steep inclines and steps. Beautiful though.

Great walk! Easy to do. The garden isn’t open to dogs (unless service), but the walk around is gorgeous. Costs just $1/hr for parking.

mostly paved. dogs allowed. nice walk

not a lot of people out, entirely paved, freeway noise obvious for half of the walk. some parts very wooded.

Great hike. you can go for a long hike. more bikers than hikers.

Wife dropped me and my bicycle off in Brainerd and picked me up in Walker. It's great as a point to point bike ride as it takes you through many small towns and lakes in the heart of Minnesota. Walker is a pretty cool little town and I would recommend staying overnight at Chase on the Lake. It's a shame there aren't better restaurant options though. Once you get close to Walker there are a few other trails that branch off, so you might want to freshen up on the map in that area before heading out. Also the trail is in pretty good shape, but there are so many trees that there will probably be a decent amount of debris, so just be mindful because a simple acorn could really ruin your day.

Rode the section from Waite Park to Collegeville yesterday. Very nice ride. Stopped at Bo Diddleys in St Joe for lunch. Delicious! Looking forward to doing it again when the fall colors pop.

I love it here. An oasis in the city. Shhh don’t tell too many people

Lilydale regional park was marked as closed to I didn’t do the loop. Cut my hike short and just walked along the paved river path instead. Bummed! Hope to do the loop when it’s open..:

Great hike, but I wouldn’t rate it as Easy. It should be rated Moderate. Follow signs for “Hiking Club”, otherwise Trail is not always well marked. Can get to some beautiful river views from the trail. Will definitely go back!

Only did part of the route recorded here. Nice mix of prairie and riverside areas. Be prepared for sun exposure. Mostly flat with only elevation change occurring at the old river channel's banks. Overall, I had a nice hike here.

I really enjoy the lake walk (the 3.5 miles by the waterside). I recommend going early enough to see the sun rise.

I love finding unpaved trails.

Short and sweet.

We had a fantastic time last October. Had to cut it down to one night since there was more snow than we were expecting and the ground was not yet frozen.

Easy to access, but crowded trail. Dog-friendly. Requires some careful footing at times, but overall a fairly easy hike for most people. River is forceful, rugged, and impressive. Several great viewpoints. Worth a quick hike, even if you skip the wooded portion of the loop in favor of just seeing the river.

Great hike, very rugged trail with lots of vertical. This is a very good App. The trail is pretty easy to follow for the most part. The App. really helped in a few spots that aren’t well marked and it’s easy to get turned around. We ended up doing 9.2 miles with all the vertical and exploring at the falls and Stairways Portage. The hike with breaks took us 7:56 total.

Loves following the trails. There are beautiful scenic overlooks to see the fall leaves and the trails can take you right down to the river and even a couple creeks. Also a very good area to go off of the trails and explore as well

Beautiful views.

I run this paved trail 2-3 times a week, really like it. It s nice fairly flat route. Twice around is just under four miles.

Definitely enjoyed this hike! We hiked about 23 total miles from country road 6 to PENN Blvd. used Bob from superior shuttle for transportation. We did an overnight in between at east palisade creek. From county road 6 to the camp site, it’s about 16 miles. Much farther than I had calculated and too far in my opinion for one day!
I’d say some of the best views of the entire Superior trail. Lake Superior was visible in a number of places and at other peaks, we had amazing views of the trees (which were just starting to turn colors). The fog was super thick on the days we went, so we probably even missed a number of stunning views.
The camp sites were very basic. No picnic table, but did have a latrine, fire pit and some wooden plank seating. No bear hanging area like other sections of the trail have, so had to make our own.
The lack of water resources actually surprised me considering how wet it’s been this summer. Fill up when you see a creek!
I’d do this section again, but maybe over three days instead of two.

A nice hike with views of surrounding greater Duluth area, industry, and natural areas.

This is mainly a mountain biking trail but can easily be hiked as well. It makes for a challenging hike, and weaves back and forth through the trees!

This trail is surrounded by all different kinds of wildflowers. There’s a clearly marked path, and lookouts along the way. Well worth the hike!

We loved hiking here! The trails are challenging and versatile for bikers and hikers.
