Icy steps!!! Great view.

Really cool trail! Lots of good scenery, and a brewery waiting at the other end for ya! Trail was super icy, but crampons save the day. Will definitely go back for a summer hike, this way we won’t have to walk the road back due to the lack of daylight. Definitely moderate.

Always a beautiful view. Just enjoyed it Jan. 12th, 2019 with all the snow and ice. Wear the proper gear, a pole might help you on the slippery spots (there’s a few!).

on clear days you can see everything from this tower! multiple states, provinces,

Morton Taylor entrance is always potholed and isolated parking lot makes it kind of sketchy (maybe use Heritage Park entrance?) but it really is a nice escape from suburbs that it’s tucked behind. Gravel dirt mix with flat path, can get pretty muddy but some unexpected scenery. Great lunch walk if you work in area or stroll for locals.

Trail was icy with little snow for base. Started wearing micro spikes and switched to full crampons which made the hike much easier as there were many very slippery spots. Some fallen trees made it interesting to negotiate. Due to our late start (and stopping at the brewery for an awesome lunch) we took trails back to the hemlock campground via the main road so as not as I negotiate the trail in the dark.
Excellent views and a very worth it trail!

Last day of Nov and the trail is a combination of ice, snow, mud and water. Much wetter than I anticipated. Slippery in spots. Nice views of the cliffs and several waterfalls. No one else on trail and no fresh tracks.

I would not call this easy in the fall months, due to the fallen leaves obscuring the trail at times, and especially when there has been as much rain as there has been in the UP this fall. The trail is very close to the Tahquamenon River at times, so that if the river is flooded, so is your trail. There were 2 different sections where I had to remove socks/shoes and wade through knee-deep water to continue on the trail. It is posted at the trailhead as a "primitive" trail, and they are right. Good footwear and supplies are a must, as cell signal is VERY sparse. But it's a beautiful hike; definitely worth it!

Great family trail

Great trail with many beautiful lookouts along the Manistee River. Lots of dispersed camping sites close to the river on the Manistee River side.

Fun loop!!! Such a beautiful hike!

I love it!

Very beautiful. First backpacking trip. It is not the easiest for your first backpacking trips due to the various points of elevation but I survived and it was well worth it. Will be doing this again!

Did the River Trail. Wife’s first trip. The views did not disappoint, especially in the fall. The campsites were in awesome outlooks. We will be doing this one again.

The bridge is now open to both cars and hikers :)

It was frosted when we visited and a little stormy. The ground was incredibly muddy with a small stream going through it. Very slippery, but soo worth it! Absolutely stunning views!!

loved this trail

great trail and pretty views

Super fun trail super great scenery. Definitely not easy though I’d say it was moderate i was feeling it the next day. It was quite muddy when we went so definitely wear decent shoes and watch your footing lots of roots and rocks on the trail! Overall though...worth it.

AMAZING! I didn't know Lake Superior was so beautiful. We did the loop in early September and went counterclockwise. The beach was great. Trail was busy but thinned out toward the end. Lots of look-outs. Mosquito falls was muddy but fun. We stayed in Munising hiking for a week and I think I only got 2 mosquito bites the whole time. I would say moderate is accurate for this trail. Took 5 hours to do the trail and that's including an hour stop at the beach for lunch. 100% would recommend this hike.

The construction is complete and the hike is easy. Beautiful views of the falls and canyon. There is also an access trail to the North Country Trail off the path to the falls. It is well marked.

four wheel drive recommended

worth the trip

Without a question, probably one of the best hikes in Michigan. Super easy trail to follow and the colors were still amazing.

Heavily tracked. Good for a quick hike with scenic views. Great for kids.

this is one of my favorite easy trails in the area. today the falls were running high which added a little extra excitement.

This was a very nice and easy paved trail. The viewing points for the waterfall were gorgeous. This is perfect for those people who want to see the falls in a quick and easy manner. We went on a Saturday around 4 in the afternoon and there were LOTS of people there. I was actually surprised how busy it was. Definitely take the 94 steps to the bottom to get closer to the falls. It is worth it!
