Got a little lost on an unfinished trail, but in a good way. Great because you can walk 2 miles or 20 miles.

We saw a wide variety of birds along the trail. It was an easy hike with great views of the lake.

Nice wooded trail with sand and gravel pathways, great if walking with young kids. You may struggle a little bit if you bring a stroller with small wheels (like a small umbrella stroller) but we made our way along pretty well with a wagon!

Quick and easy hike. A little buggy, but not terrible. Brought both of my dogs with no issues. Should have brought a bathing suit!

This is a great place to Kayak without worrying about a ton of people unlike the Platte River. The river at times will be a lot faster then you think and to be completely honest, this is the only time I've flipped my Kayak and I swear it was because of a rock that you can't see. Anyway's, it's an 11 mile stretch but that 11 miles is a lot longer than you think so plan accordingly. Enjoy your paddle and have fun! A lot of wild life to see also.

If you’re looking to get a quick hike then this is your spot!! I grew up in the Long Lake area which is about 12 miles west of Traverse City. Long lake is absolutely stunning with very clean water. This trail is quick and during this hike you’ll get a little taste of what long lake is all about...peaceful!

Love this trail for snowshoeing. The hills give you a little challenge. The river is so beautiful and peaceful

The trail is well-marked and easy to follow. I hiked in autumn and the fall colors were amazing! Very pretty. The only thing keeping me from rating this five stars was that there were so many bicyclists on the trail. I had to constantly watch ahead and behind. So, five stars as a biking trail, four stars for hiking.

Loved it! Beautiful!! Great place for a relaxing walk in early September, perfect time of year.
Although I would have loved to walk/hike alone, I'd say this trail is stroller friendly. I pushed our "all-terrain" stroller with my two year old, which was somewhat bumpy from tree roots and a bit of a challenge up small hills. Besides that, it definitely was worth the experience of a nature adventure with my daughter, both of us very much enjoyed it together.

This was our first ever singletrack and we had a blast! Staying at Timber Ridge RV Park makes access easy. We will ride more over the next two weeks.

Again, kayaking. I've done the whole entire (paddleable) river but it'll take you longer than you think 11 miles would take....like an entire summer's day! An excellent way to spend it, but I think it's much more fun to break it up into chunks. Love this river, with its natural scenery, beautiful houses and the fun of paddling thru downtown TC right into West Bay! A word of caution, there are some fun class II rapids along the way so be sure you're prepared to rescue yourself/others along the way. Also, I would recommend taking out at the tubes that run under South Airport Rd.....unless you don't mind tons of spiders (I learned the hard way)!

Rode the singletrack. Nice flow to the ride. Not overly complicated. Some tight, curvy sections with lots of trees right on the trail, primarily between markers 4 and 6, that made for some interesting navigation. A couple of beach spots and some sand in the turns to pay attention to.

We road the Vasa Single track for after a recommendation from the local bike shop, Einstein Cycles (great shop with a coffee shop attached!). Not an overly complicated trail but fast & scenic.

Great Mountain biking trail! There are many maps on the paths and the paths are well marked. I would recommend this track to experienced bikers and beginners.

Overall a great hike, if you have dogs be sure to bring them. Some areas have very soft sand which make it more difficult to hike but it was a pretty good workout.

There are 100 miles of amazing single track trails! They run an event 'X100' and we got to do 20 miles of it. Pretty awesome! It was perfectly marked for the race. However most people dont know about the single tracks in this park since they are not in the map. When you see one, adventure and take it. It will be worth it.

The rest of the double tracks are very sandy and not fun at all.

Nice place to run. Easy terrain. The trails are wide and because it's all loops it's pretty easy to navigate.

An awesome kayak, canoe, or tube float. Launch at Shumsky and get on down to Beitner rd in a couple hours. Beautiful river. Please be mindful of the fly fisherman and respect the space. You can portage further down and paddle through Keystone and Sabin as well.
