Great trails with much of the path edging the river/rapids. Beautiful woods and well-marked.

This is a great place to Kayak without worrying about a ton of people unlike the Platte River. The river at times will be a lot faster then you think and to be completely honest, this is the only time I've flipped my Kayak and I swear it was because of a rock that you can't see. Anyway's, it's an 11 mile stretch but that 11 miles is a lot longer than you think so plan accordingly. Enjoy your paddle and have fun! A lot of wild life to see also.

Very simple trail with a decent amount of options as far as routes go. Was able to go back a few times and not take the same route. Dogs love it!

Again, kayaking. I've done the whole entire (paddleable) river but it'll take you longer than you think 11 miles would take....like an entire summer's day! An excellent way to spend it, but I think it's much more fun to break it up into chunks. Love this river, with its natural scenery, beautiful houses and the fun of paddling thru downtown TC right into West Bay! A word of caution, there are some fun class II rapids along the way so be sure you're prepared to rescue yourself/others along the way. Also, I would recommend taking out at the tubes that run under South Airport Rd.....unless you don't mind tons of spiders (I learned the hard way)!

Actually kayaking....but the Boardman is neither the sea nor does it have significant whitewater. For the area, it has some swift water with narrow turns and is very lovely as you pass by natural areas and beautiful housing along the banks. The trip takes about an hour and a half at a leisurely pace with a few areas to be able to get out of your ride and play along the banks. I bring a small grill and cook out a few burgers for my friends and I.....mmmm, no better burgers anywhere! Even if you don't have two vehicles, you can drop off your kayak at Schumsky's, drive your van back to the Beitner parking lot and Rudd your bike back up to the kayaks (be sure and bring a lock!) in no more than an easy 20 minute ride.

It was beautiful. We saw some wildflowers and admired the Boardman River. The only con was that I was left for wanting more! So that was a good thing! We did this whole hike in an hour and A quarter.

This is a great trail! I live just up the road from it and frequent this trail a lot! There is two parts of this trail and one part is paved and is in opinion wheelchair accessible.

The rapids are also great for Whitewater Kayaking. Be aware these are for people who know what they are doing, not a casual ride in the kayak.

Great trail through the city of TC! You'll get views of both East and West Traverse Bay. Stop at Clinch Park to check out the boats and the beach.

An awesome kayak, canoe, or tube float. Launch at Shumsky and get on down to Beitner rd in a couple hours. Beautiful river. Please be mindful of the fly fisherman and respect the space. You can portage further down and paddle through Keystone and Sabin as well.
