Nice well maintained trail. Dog friendly. 2 way traffic (several bicyclists). Beautiful in the fall! Indoor bathroom near parking lot.

It was a nice trip with a baby, and it's relatively easy. I would've liked a bit more of a challenge, but it was a very peaceful.

Good workout on these trails. Even my dog enjoys hiking. Bring water.

Great enduro. All climbs are very doable. No steep up and down. But lots of turns. I really enjoyed my afternoon.

Got a little lost on an unfinished trail, but in a good way. Great because you can walk 2 miles or 20 miles.

We saw a wide variety of birds along the trail. It was an easy hike with great views of the lake.

Great for camping!

Very nice trail with really friendly hikers! Tried this trail out for the first time today and will definitely be back to explore it more! It was quiet and peaceful which is exactly what I needed. I also had the opportunity to chat with some fellow hikers along the way.

This trail connects to the Leelanau Trail which runs 17 miles up to Suttons Bay. Makes for a very good day of biking.

Beautiful trail!! So peaceful. Be careful, however , about the “loop”. It actually stops and you have to walk back down the road to get back to your car (if you park at #1). Not a full loop.

Love this trail! A hidden treasure not heavily traveled. Good elevation, Woods, river and a touch of prairie. We walked almost 5 miles (other trails connect), and saw no one until the end. Beautiful!

Beautiful wooded trail that runs along a steep ravine. Lots of bird sightings and small animals, too. The bridges are nice. There are a couple side paths you can take, but they aren’t very long. Most trails are leaf covered with tree roots. No sandy areas or rocky areas. A few low grade hills. I’d be careful taking your kids because some trails are narrow and right next to the steep ravine. It’s gorgeous once you get back to the Boardman River.

Nice wooded trail with sand and gravel pathways, great if walking with young kids. You may struggle a little bit if you bring a stroller with small wheels (like a small umbrella stroller) but we made our way along pretty well with a wagon!

We did this trail and the additional loop! Such an amazing well groomed trail with beautiful scenery! One of my favorites so far in Michigan. A word of caution if you choose to hike further than the 4 mile, there is no bridge to cross the river so you’d have to hike 5 miles back... or cross the river. We chose the latter

Very useful way to get around TC.

Hidden gem that will no doubt get more popular as more and more people find out about it. Love the new bridge they installed that now makes this a loop. Incredible views!

Quick and easy hike. A little buggy, but not terrible. Brought both of my dogs with no issues. Should have brought a bathing suit!

If you’re looking to get a quick hike then this is your spot!! I grew up in the Long Lake area which is about 12 miles west of Traverse City. Long lake is absolutely stunning with very clean water. This trail is quick and during this hike you’ll get a little taste of what long lake is all about...peaceful!

The trail is well-marked and easy to follow. I hiked in autumn and the fall colors were amazing! Very pretty. The only thing keeping me from rating this five stars was that there were so many bicyclists on the trail. I had to constantly watch ahead and behind. So, five stars as a biking trail, four stars for hiking.

very relaxing hike that you can easily make as short or as long as you would like it to be. I saw a fair amount of wild life in the trails and some very beautiful views, especially around the lake.

Loved it! Beautiful!! Great place for a relaxing walk in early September, perfect time of year.
Although I would have loved to walk/hike alone, I'd say this trail is stroller friendly. I pushed our "all-terrain" stroller with my two year old, which was somewhat bumpy from tree roots and a bit of a challenge up small hills. Besides that, it definitely was worth the experience of a nature adventure with my daughter, both of us very much enjoyed it together.
