Really cool trail! Lots of good scenery, and a brewery waiting at the other end for ya! Trail was super icy, but crampons save the day. Will definitely go back for a summer hike, this way we won’t have to walk the road back due to the lack of daylight. Definitely moderate.

Love running here. Really enjoy paint creek that runs along the trail.

This is a nice, easy one mile loop in Rowden Park. Lightly traveled on a January Friday morning.

For an urban meets country vibe this trail is on point. You can hear the road along the way but the river does it’s best to drown it out. Interesting and beautiful hike. Easy category for sure. Just a few stairs here and there, the embankment can be steep at times.

9.5 miles each way to completely cover the trail. Even though almost perfectly flat it will take several hours to hike it, or from 1 to 2.5 hours to bike it, depending on how hard you push it.
The trail is very well maintained, in fantastic condition, and you can get some serious quiet time in. I've biked from end to end and back seeing only one other person. Trash receptacles are available every couple of miles.

I love this trail! I’m not sure about the length - it seems shorter than 3.2.

Trail was icy with little snow for base. Started wearing micro spikes and switched to full crampons which made the hike much easier as there were many very slippery spots. Some fallen trees made it interesting to negotiate. Due to our late start (and stopping at the brewery for an awesome lunch) we took trails back to the hemlock campground via the main road so as not as I negotiate the trail in the dark.
Excellent views and a very worth it trail!

Enjoyable trail. Especially with the first snowfall

Excellent pathway running along the Flint River.

I would not call this easy in the fall months, due to the fallen leaves obscuring the trail at times, and especially when there has been as much rain as there has been in the UP this fall. The trail is very close to the Tahquamenon River at times, so that if the river is flooded, so is your trail. There were 2 different sections where I had to remove socks/shoes and wade through knee-deep water to continue on the trail. It is posted at the trailhead as a "primitive" trail, and they are right. Good footwear and supplies are a must, as cell signal is VERY sparse. But it's a beautiful hike; definitely worth it!

I agree with the prior review. I think about 70% of the trail is normal sidewalk through EGR. The other 30% is beautiful lakeside with nature. I personally like to use nature trails and it definitely feels weird to just walk through rich neighborhoods, then on to the east beltline, then back to suburban houses and businesses.

A 5 star hiking path it is not. There is as much path or sidewalk through winding subdivisions and along loud busy highways as along or in sight of the lake. There are no markings to know where the path is except for one posted map that find. There is always the sound of cars and trucks on the roads present.

Flat and straight. Not much shade. The path is in very good condition. I’d recommend biking or rollerblading it.

Super fun trail super great scenery. Definitely not easy though I’d say it was moderate i was feeling it the next day. It was quite muddy when we went so definitely wear decent shoes and watch your footing lots of roots and rocks on the trail! Overall though...worth it.

Beautiful well maintained paths

A decent, paved alternative for when other trails are too muddy to utilize. Wasn’t too highly trafficked and it’s plenty wide for bikes and walkers.

A pleasant walk, very flat with mostly meadow views. The path is primarily paved, with some areas of mowed grass. There are also some nice views of the river.

It’s a great trail to enjoy a nice walk or run. It’s well maintained and has some beautiful views of the river, wooded area and sunsets. Also pet friendly!

Very nice easy stroll. Great people watching. It is paved and flat but a great after dinner activity.

lots of deer. Easy and peaceful. We did have a problem with someone on a motor bike when signs are specifically posted.

Very nice scenic walk. However, because it is surrounded by playgrounds and athletic fields the Tranquil ambience was ruined for me by so many outside noises. Definitely will try it again, but recommend avoiding it on weekends and holidays.

Nice neighborhood park.

A really nice trail system. Clearly marked and well maintained. Some surprisingly varying terrain, with some majestic trees.

Great 4.5 mile route around a beautiful part of Grand Rapids. It is around a lake but not right on lake. Follow maps people have made, as you have to run through some residential neighborhoods. Neat little downtown area right by high school.

rode the total 12.7 mi. Very nice with the exception of some very bad concrete joints and separations. Had to stop and retrieve my water bottle 4 times after it was jolted out of it's holder.

wonderful for horseback riding!

It's paved

Nice trail for running. It’s a great workout, especially the Hall Street hill.

Great for out and back runs for marathon training! Downsides is stopping for traffic and should have a portra John near by ;)

We started from Lower Falls campground and did the round trip between the falls. I would definitely call this trail moderate rather than easy as there are a lot of stairs, hills, and roots. Make sure to bring water and sturdy footwear - this is not the hike to wear flip-flops on!

The scenery was nice and went from woods to swamp and back again. We didn't see much wildlife though due to the trail being so heavily trafficked. The views along the river were still a treat though and we got some great landscape photos. If I were in the park again I'd probably do one of the less popular trails.
