like riding my bike on these trails wildlife meeting other people excercise

great trail, scenic, asphalt well paved and maintained.

If you are looking for a challenging paved trail to skate, this one will definitely give you a workout.

One of the most beautiful bike rides I have been on. Very easy, but you do have to watch for people on tandem bikes and children.

Absolutely gorgeous forest! Flowers which attract butterflies. Deer. Paved path with some hills. Well maintained. Bathrooms on the southern end.

Wide paths, well marked. Didn’t see another person the entire time

Mid July. Hiked trail just after tour of the lighthouse ( cool and interesting by the way), the trail was easy for most of it but there was one section that was so overgrown that I felt I needed a machete to get through. Some areas were washed out. The views of the lake were beautiful however. Did not see much wild life other than a few species of frogs and birds. Decent trip.

Nice trail. Beautiful scenery. Saw deer by the river. An important factor for me were the porta-jons along the trail.

Good time on an easy trail

Awesome trail with something for everyone. Really neat wooded nature section with pretty side trails. Saw Eastern Grey Squirrels, Tree Swallows, Northern Flickers, Bluejays, possibly a Great Crested Flycatcher, and more. In addition to the nature area, this trail passes a half pipe and bike jump course, basketball courts/baseball diamond, playgrounds, large trees, and more. Really diverse and always something to see. So glad I keep finding these cool places in the middle of urban/neighborhood areas. Nice thing about the mile loop is that you can keep track of your miles manually every time you "pass go". Unfortunately you do not also get $200. Haha! Had a great time.

Great place to visit and ride bikes to.

These trails are super fun. Mostly easy climbs, a little technical in sections of single-track switchbacks, and the sand in sections requires some peddling. Beginner or expert, these trails can entertain anybody, except hikers. They are indeed multi-use, but the bikers really out number all others.

great birding trail :)

The paved trail along side the road is very hilly and great for a scenic work out. Lots of off shoots to take a break and enjoy some nature. It’s not hard but does take some stamina. If you get winded take the actual road it’s faster and much easier.

Not a pet friendly place. You can only take pets on the paved areas so forget about the trails.

we did the 8.2 mile loop twice.

A really nice trail in an unexpectedly beautiful slice of nature preserved in the midst of Madison Heights. Easy, paved entirely, this trail is something anyone can enjoy and great for a multitude of activities and skill levels. For more challenge, add weight to your pack, increase your pace, or add to the length of your hike or walk. Because the longer loop is about a mile, it's easy to count your miles as you make your way around more than once, and fun to see what new things you can observe each time around. This little trail features a vernal pool and is open from dawn to dusk, all year round. A lot of local nature to be observed and appreciated here, if you look! Absolutely wonderful to have something like this available in the middle of such a populated place like Madison Heights. Despite the populated area, I have never seen the trail crowded. Maybe see someone else now and again but that's it. The Nature Center is also a nice feature and the people there are always friendly and eager to answer and nature related or other questions you might have. In front of the nature center is a nice garden pond with some native flowers and plants, and a nice place to sit and watch, meditate, or stretch before or after a hike. A calm respite from the more urbanized surroundings, a little local gem!

Great way to start the day, awesome views, good ascent/descent (approx 670ft of ascent from trailhead following the advanced loop, minus the 0.8 mile “scenic overlook” of Big Glen). Thought the island view was lights-out.

Great trail for family

Not a fan of paved trails and wouldn’t really consider this a trail.

I was encouraged to ride this trail since I wanted to have a long ride uninterrupted by traffic. This was great!! I rode from Comstock Park to Sand Lake (~42.5 miles) starting out in the morning. It was pretty chill and not crowded, except for downtown Rockford area. It was covered by trees until you are in downtown areas and beyond Cedar Springs. There is a mild incline going north, but very manageable. I recommend this trail for anyone who wants to ride a long distance and maybe stop along the way.

I moved to Richmond so I could ride this trail whenever I want to. Great trail.

Nicely manicured trials, easy to walk, geared toward bikers, but still a very nice walk.

It is a nice place to enjoy a leisurely walk and enjoy being out in nature.

Very nice asphalt, smooth and perfect with out any potholes. I did 6 miles today with my Collie and we both really enjoyed the quiet peaceful walk. recommend it to anyone.

For the location in the middle of a very populated area, it doesn’t get much better....I hit this trail on lunch often
