A very nice forest hike. See some of the oldest trees in the region. Easy to find, good parking. Near town.

Great views. Nice loop trail. I couldn’t imagine going up to the bluffs if took a right to start the hike. Nearly impossible going down after a rain. Wouldn’t want to attempt going up.

Not a difficult hike but very nice - especially with the leaves changing.

Great hike. Very clean and well marked. A bike ride up to it is all up hill but a good way to get up. And an awesome way down! I would recommend going to the right if you would like to see the oldest tree in the forest. The elevation change was nice but beware of the exposed roots.

Amazing views. A bit harder than moderate rating. A lot of fun.

Hiked it twice. It’s a great trail

Smell of cedar is great. Trail is well maintained. It is a beautiful walk. Elevation is easy to maneuver.

awesome hike, it's a little tough going below the cliffs but very fun highly reccomend it

Beautiful trail, all pines. Great for younger hikers. Take the left route for some reason the views that way around the loop are more stunning...

The drive up to the trailhead is improved greatly from prior washout. Left side of trail is steady upward and easier to navigate with little ones, watch for loose rocks at the top. The views are stunning and worth every bit of the hike!

Absolutely without a doubt the best trail in the UP a must do for hikers and nature lovers. Left (clockwise) is for sure the easier way to go but still a challenge if you decide not to back track and take the rest of the trail out. Very steep climb down at times and many fallen rocks with step drops. A great hike.

Really beautiful spot with great views of the water. If you’re looking for a challenge, going counterclockwise will provide that as others have said, albeit it might be a little dangerous in some spots if you aren’t careful or if it’s wet and slippery. The regular trail is kid friendly but I wouldn’t recommend the counterclockwise route if you have some with you or if you’re mobility-impaired in any way. The regular trail is probably rated as easy... maybe moderate because it’s up hill. The counterclockwise route with the scrambling is for sure hard in my opinion.

My favorite hike in the UP! Great views and some nice scrambling. I would recommend going right at the intersection and follow the trail around. Then you can scramble up the rock field to the bluffs. Then go back the opposite way and its a nicely maintained trail.

Very cool old growth forest! Came early in the season, trail needed some clean up, but overall a very nice trail!

Amazing views!!!

Beautiful fall views and amazing fall colors. Did the hike counter clockwise, the stretch of trail below the bluff was a bit rough in a couple areas with loose rocks in steep sections, with a moderately difficult climb to the top (fun for me) prior to making it the the majestic views of the Keweenaw. If your looking for an easier rout go to the left (clockwise) hit the clearings and turn back before the steep decent, making it a safer in and out hike without missing any views.

We did the "big loop" at about 3-3.5 miles and it was beautiful. Enormous old white pines, among other trees too. Very nice hike.
