Steep up hill climb and very rocky trail.

Great trail, views of river and the overlook is worth the hike. You need sure footing as some spots are rocky and narrow.

If you're looking to get away from the crowds this is a great hike. There is a couple sections of the trail towards the beginning of the trail that tend to be muck/under water most of the year but there are alternative routes to get around those sections (or you can bring sandals to just walk through these sections if you don't mind). The trail itself is not terribly challenging but very enjoyable walking among a relatively untouched forest with a lake as your end goal.

The Road into the trail head is terrible. The hike was super wet and It may be due to the rain. The water views of the streams were not good because it was swamp like. Was not able to make it to the lake because the trail was flooded.

Great trail, tons of large old trees. friend and I climbed large cliff and slept on ridge. It was raining when we first trekked in, but we enjoyed the adventure.

Nice overlook of Peshekee River and Lake Michigamme. Trail has steps on one climb to help stop erosion. Other sections include roots and rocks.

Used to camp there often. The road up to the lake was usually washed out bad so a mere 5-6 mi took an hour. When u reach the parking area you have to hike the last 1/4 mi to the lake which only has 3 rustic campsites. But if you like solitude.. this is perfect! Then you can spend your time hiking to Claire & teddy lakes and others. Watch eagles and moose as u sip your coffee and let the loons sing you to sleep at nite. ❤️

The road you drive on to get back to the parking lot is an adventure in itself. I don't need to ever drive down that road again. It is a one lane road that had cars going both ways and blind corners. This road is 7 miles long and you could go about 10 mph. The lake was amazing

One of my favorite places in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, a great hike especially if you bring your fishing gear. Craig Lake State Park is filled with little lakes and as long as you don't go in the early spring the insects are bearable and well worth it.
