Sugarloaf is an incredible hike with a 470 feet high view at the top. Not sure why people keep downgrading its rating on here because it's too easy? If you're looking for a longer hike, the trail connects to Wetmore Landing and then to Little Presque Isle. You can also connect Sugarloaf to Hogback Mountain which is has an even more impressive view (600 feet high). Combine all these and you have yourself a challenging hike with three of the most beautiful spots in all of Michigan.

Really enjoyed this hike/climb. Kids loved “mountain climbing” (playing on the boulders) and the views at the end of the trail were worth every step!

I’ve lived in Marquette 45 years and never knew this waterfall was just off Wright street. Great hike.

Short hike, we did it twice- easy side has steps and the hard side has some rocks in the trail but overall not difficult if you are active. Should be doable for just about anyone and it is a nice view of the lake. Do it for the views and less for a ‘hike.’

Be careful, ran straight into a bear ON the trail yesterday. One of my favorite places to run and I know that coming close certain wildlife is always a risk while running in the woods. Don’t let that totally detour you if you want to camp or hike there because it’s really great, but uh, maybe bring bear spray.

Great short trail with a great view of Lake Superior.

Very nice short hike. Stairs to the viewing decks and a couple of small rocky sections. People were doing it in Sandals so tennis shoes or anything works! Brought the pup and he enjoyed the walk as well!

Great hike, lot of stairs! The views are worth it. Take water, seeing too many people hiking without water.

You can go beyond the platforms at the top ro get different views and be more secluded from your fellow hikers. Watch your step!

Nice trail in the NTN trail network - Marquette North Trails. Connects to many other trails to give more options depending on how far you want to journey. The Ox Bow loop follows closer to the river and gives the opportunity to see more water foul. Well marked trail and easy to follow signs at the major trail crossings.

Lovely hike. Worth it. There are two options easy and hard. The hard is not bad at all.

First part of Gorge-Ous trail from Noquemanon Trail Head. Well laid out trail takes you along Carp River and features great views of the river. Areas of the trail area cut into the sides of Mount Marquette and can be tricky if wet. This section extends from the trailhead to the Carp River. A second section extends from the river to the top of Marquette Mountain (ski hill).

Great view of the shoreline and variety of landforms

Short and sweet hike, fun to climb around. It was foggy so not as great of views as it could have been.

Great easy hike, if you're a bit experienced. Too easy for me these days, but the view is nice.

Nice short hike. Remenber your yak tracks in the winter. Trail and stairs will be slippery and icy. The view is great!!

Decent scenery

The main loop is very easy as it is a road, but it is fun once you venture off into the side trails. I enjoy walking along the cliff trail which is more difficult, but well worth it to see the lake. Only downside is how crowded some spots can be during the summer.

very crowded. this would make for a great spot in the summer. Cliff jumping is very popular

Hike the Black Rocks. It's so cool

Although the trail was rated as easy, it was not easy for me as there were many tree roots that presented tripping hazards. It was very nice in the woods and we only encountered a few hikers. The descent for the trail followed the Lake Superior shoreline that provided a beautiful view!

Stairs were much easier than climbing the rocks but the climb was worth the view.

Great hike. Beautiful views.

Great place to hike with a beautiful view once you get to the top! wish it was longer but still very nice.

Was looking forward to hiking around this park with my dogs. However, I drove all the way there to find out my dogs are not allowed on the trails and have to stay in the truck..... even though the website says they are dog friendly and as long as their on a leash they are allowed all over. Very disappointing.

View is absolutely great

Great trail! Views are incredible from the platforms. Definitely worth taking time out to do.

Super pretty views at the top. They have an easier and more difficult trail. The rocks very very cool as well.
