Heavily tracked. Good for a quick hike with scenic views. Great for kids.

this is one of my favorite easy trails in the area. today the falls were running high which added a little extra excitement.

Very nice trail with lots to see. This route takes you past the end of trail and along the longer trail.

One of our favorites for the beauty waiting at the end of the trail. The waterfall is truly beautiful and the hike would be better classified as moderate to easy aside from a few low spots that cause you to walk over makeshift stick bridges which might be much for the less than sturdy footed hiker. My wife and children (3,5,7 yo) all completed the trail w/o any complications. It’s so worth a look!

Nice easy hike with wonderful views in every direction. Heavily trafficked up to the falls, then much fewer people.

Cool views, easy hike. Be sure to hike to both the upper and lower falls. Nice picnic area available with access to potable water.

So pretty! I hiked this short trail during the week of Thanksgiving 2017. There was quite a bit of snow and the falls were beautiful! I can’t believe of all the times I have been to this area I have never made this quick hike. Very flat, easy, great photo ops. Only saw one other person there, I am guessing it is pretty deserted once snow starts falling.

Very easy to get too and very beautiful. Well worth the short hike.

There are 2 falls. The first is about half way and you have to walk up the river a ways to see both of them. Both falls are beautiful. The trail was barely used so it was hard to follow. I recommend this trail for a more advanced hiker.
I walked up to the first falls lake and it was beautiful. I would like to do this hike again.

Easy to get to from CR 510. Short easy hike to the falls. 1 mile or less. A number of sources state this is a "hard" trail. That is not true from 510. Very easy.

If you get off the trail and walk, climb the rocks at the river's edge it's fantastic! Great photo ops too

Excellent trail for snowshoeing; some challenging spots where you have to get across the water. Going thorough tunnel like path created by snow covered trees gave a fairy tale experience! It was around 7ºF/-14ºC, but going with a group made it very enjoyable.

gorgeous falls, and some of the best cliff jumping in the UP. 2 different locations with heights from 5-34'. that's measured, not a guess!
If you aren't sure where to jump look for the ropes, or just ask anyone there!

the best way to get to yellow dog is on co rd 510 off of co rd 550. from there you can go down river and there are 4-5 waterfalls writing a couple miles. I've heard it's great for fishing too.

Love this spot. Short hike with spectacular rock formation for Michigan. Cliff jumping spots as well.

Great hike. Wear water shoes to walk down the river to the falls. Hike past the main falls. You won't be disappointed.
