Great trail mostly flat mostly sunny beautiful lake consider it unmarked. Without the app I don't believe I could have made it back to the car lol. #truth

The information is a bit misleading. I went today and inquired about the trails in the nature center. The girl at the entrance booth said there are 12 miles of walking trails, the cost per vehicle is 7.00$ and no dogs allowed. The trail I assume the description is talking about is the paved walkway that runs along westnedge in front of the nature center which she said is 3 miles in either direction. They will let you park for free at the center if you walk the outer trail.

Beautiful place for a hike! There’s the main trial around the lake and many other small trails off of that if you want to explore a bit more. Will definitely go back.

A great area in Kalamazoo to go stretch your legs and soak up nature. Visit the lake or meander through the woods. We used to live across the street and walk this daily. Our dog loved it! Off the main trail of you stick to the north side of the lake there is another small beach that not as many people stop at. Perfect for letting your dog enjoy the water.

The area along where railroad tracks were are great for mushroom hunters!

No trail markings. Muddy at times. Fairly busy.

This is a pretty legit trail. Lots of really nice people, beautiful scenery and trash cans places every so often. A ton of litter up near the Winchell Way apartments and the trails were poorly marked. Sorta hard to follow but luckily I had this app. I will probably return.

Short and sweet. Dog-log stations and bathrooms at both ends are awesome. Trash cans every so often and the scenic overlooks are worth the short walk. Well maintained and well marked.

Two friends and I did a shake-down hike here. Very beautiful but the trails were not marked very well. We got lost and had to navigate out. Trails are well-enough maintained but needs improvement with trail marking.

Cool place! Today was my first time here. The trails weren’t marked properly, making it hard to figure out where to go. I will be back, my dog and I enjoyed it ☺️

Frequently used trail. Good for biking, walking, and running.

Trekked around Asylum Lake Preserve today. The trails around the lake are tight, and most likely very wet in the spring. The cold and snow made the trip today quite enjoyable. Also, not much traffic today...but in the spring or summer this preserve is very well travelled. Lot of dog walkers. I will probably continue to make this a winter excursion.

This is a very nice moderate trail. We spent about 2 hours today wondering through most of the preserve; nearly 6 miles of documented tracks. The system is not marked very well, but half the fun is getting lost. The fresh snow made this hike awesome. The scenery was fantastic. Great place to cross country ski, snowshoe, or hike after a fresh snowfall.

Few elevation changes here and there... scenery changes from deep forest with narrow lane to wider lane or to open prairie? In summary, enough changes in scenery to make it interesting for 5.3 confirmed hiking miles. I saw a white tailed deer, lots of chipmunks and white geese or swan. There is no washroom, no water fountain, no trash can and no markings on trails to tell you where you are.

One of the most beautiful trails I have run in the area. Wide enough in many spots to run two people side by side.

Fantastic hike with lots of trails for hiking and biking. Short trails in meadows and long ones in pine forests. Beautiful.

Got in a wonderful ten mile hike with a good friend :-) Beautiful place!!!

If you're doing the entire Kal-Haven Trail, there are many places to stop for food and rest. The trail keeps you safe the entire trip with great signage.

So many great lookout places and several trail heads to experience a new home every time!

We followed the trail all the way through. It was mucky and led to a major road. There was fencing around us for most of the trail. I would not recommend this trail.

Came from out-of-town and walked this in the Fall ~ was just okay. Lots of dog-walkers, and just average sightseeing. Easy trail to walk. Would use this all the time, though, if I had a furry-friend and they could swim in the lake!

Very convenient location for a vacationer in South Haven. If you're looking for a flat course to do distance, this is it. You share the path with bikes, but it wasn't too crowded. Also, the Black River running along the trail is perfect for kayaking.
