Relatively flat terrain, with two footbridges over the Au Sable river, made this a very easy and interesting hike to do. Saw people fishing in the shallow, clear water off of one of the bridges. After the second footbridge we ran into several boggy/muddy areas. Someone had laid down logs to provide a drier passage, but shoes got dirty so bring shoes you are okay getting mucked up a bit. Then came the absolutely stunning old growth hemlock forest. This is what I came to see and it was magnificent. Bring your camera!
