Great trail! Beautiful views with snow on the ground! Very enjoyable.

It’s a beautiful area. Peaceful walk through the forest. Trail leads to a couple lookouts., one of which over looks a shipwreck that can be seen when the conditions are right. Stairs down to the beach washed out, but can still make your way down without disrupting the landscape/vegetation. The views of the coast are remarkable, even on dark wintery days.

Well laid out loop trail. 2” of snow and ice today, but still decent traction because of the way that the trail was designed. Excellent views of Lake Michigan.

This was a really fun trail, we saw a lot of different types of scenery and found several kinds of mushrooms. To keep on the trail, follow the pink marks on the trees. Only complaint is that we ran into people who had their dogs off the leash. My dog is skiddish and this behavior upsets her. Overall, a fun and moderately challenging trail that I would definitely revisit.

Well marked. Beautiful hike through the woods where you are rewarded with a long wide open beach area along Lake Michigan. A couple nice overlooks. Coming back from the lake is steadily uphill, when traveling in numerical order.

This was by far my favorite trail along m22. It’s got a great range of landscapes. I would recommend bringing stuff to swim once you hit the beach because you pretty much have it to yourself. It’s also dog friendly. No restroom Dog friendly Bring swimming gear for the summer!

Quite varied. Really cool change in vegetation as you get closer to the lake. Well with the time. Well marked.

Really enjoyed this trail. Has a couple nice overlooks onto Lake Michigan, and stairs down to a beach.

1hr loop at a leisurely pace. Nice beach and stairs.

Quiet and beautiful, this trail is almost entirely shaded woodlands. There are a couple of decks that offer great panoramic views of Lake Michigan (if the conditions are right, you can see a shipwreck in the water). The trail leads to a sandy beach that is great for swimming! There are a few steep ascents/descents- nothing too crazy, just something to be aware of if you have physical limitations.

Beautiful view! Awesome trail to hike on a hot summer day, shaded trail and leads to the beach which my dog enjoyed as well!

This was a great trail. It goes through the woods and out to the beach. Bring some swim gear if you would like to experience Lake Michigan. The beach is beautiful. Good elevation changes and shady most of the way. Some mosquitoes, but not terrible. Not a lot of traffic.

Great forested trail with amazing vistas of Lake Michigan. Did it snowshoeing and had a good workout.

Some really pretty views at points along the trail, the inland trail is average.

Absolutely beautiful views of lake mi and Harrington lake

Was absolutely beautiful!!

Pretty easy trail. Down hill to the lake, then up hill on the way back. Beautiful views from bluffs

This trail winds and is steep. The way back to the car will always be at an incline which may be a little difficult for some. The view of the lake was cool too.

amazing views and beach access. its all uphill on the way back though.

It is a great all-around hike with something for everyone. 7-year old approved. Where the trail ends at the lake supposedly there is a sunken boat that can be snorkeled. Great fossil hunting. Nice rolling hills and views.

Pretty good hike and some areas are quite steep for some good cardio. Nice walk to the beach and great lookouts.

A fun few shaded miles of wooded elevations with a couple dune-top lookout decks. Midpoint stairs that decend to a secluded beach on Lake Michigan. The trail is trodden enough that I hiked the path out barefoot after swimming.

Absolutely stunning trail! Some inclines that get your heart rate up, but the views are beyond worth it. Trail is very well marked and easy to navigate. I recommend going in reverse numerical order so that you hit the beach on the first half and end the hike with the gorgeous scenic overlooks. Would definitely visit Frankfort again just to hike this trail.

great hike to lake michigan with nice lookout views of the water

One of the best trails in the area without a doubt. There are two awesome overlooks, and the trail leads right to the beach, which is mostly free from nearby development for miles in each direction.

This is a must if you are in the area! While the views and trails aren't quite as impressive as Arcadia Dunes, the beach may very well be the best in Michigan. Super scenic with towering dunes, remote, and beautiful clear water.
