Easy walk in the woods with interesting history provided along the way. Mosquitoes were abundant, but slow and generally easily brushed away.

Really enjoyed the historical markets along the route. Nice babbling creek. Trail quite overgrown in several sections. Bug spray is a good idea in summer.

Easy hike, wear sturdy shoes lots of roots and jagged rocks. If you like access to waterfalls this is a great one for that. Choose the right time of the year to go, July sucks for biting flies, June not too bad just bring mosquito spray, mid-August to September probably the best.

This was a great, secluded trail back to the waterfall. You will follow a two track for the first half, then it drops down the hill to a lower area, which was wet and swampy. The waterfall was well worth the hike in even being swarmed by all the mosquitos. The only difficulty is the drive to the trailhead due to the bumpy, narrow dirt road.

We loved this lightly traveled trail. It had historical markers along the way telling the story of the town of Tyoga that was one on that spot. Lots of little bridges, moss covered rocks and beautiful forests makes this a little gem. We saw deer, pheasants and lots of little critters.

long walk but worth it

If you are going to the falls you will need an older truck or jeep. After Rock River Rd the roads (more like trails) are narrow two tracks. We had a full size truck and had to turn around. We never actually got to the falls but I don't want anyone to head back there not knowing what to expect. The forest is pristine otherwise and was a nice albeit bumpy drive.

A little overgrown in places but well marked and easy to get to. Definitely need sturdy shoes as it has a lot of gnarly roots and rocks. Fun to learn a little history when hiking. Huge old hemlocks and birch. Really enjoyed it!
