SUPER easy. Not a lot of sights to see, but definitely nice for just getting out with the kids and enjoying nature.

I was encouraged to ride this trail since I wanted to have a long ride uninterrupted by traffic. This was great!! I rode from Comstock Park to Sand Lake (~42.5 miles) starting out in the morning. It was pretty chill and not crowded, except for downtown Rockford area. It was covered by trees until you are in downtown areas and beyond Cedar Springs. There is a mild incline going north, but very manageable. I recommend this trail for anyone who wants to ride a long distance and maybe stop along the way.

BE CAREFUL! I found something metal sticking up out of the ground in the middle of the path. Someone else can probably look at this and know exactly what it is and if it can be removed, but I honestly have no idea. It looks like it could easily pop a tire or go through a shoe, so I ripped off my sleeve and tied it around the head of the “metal thingy”. It’s red, so hopefully people see it. Pics attached to my recording from today.

This was a nice path on a hot day (90°F) for my wife, me and our 2 dogs. Being a senior citizen and given the heat index, we elected to cut across the loop about 1/2 way in and still hiked 2.5 miles.
The terrain is pretty easy and the forest is not real dense, so it was very pleasant. The trail is sandy and the slopes are gentle. The flora consists of a lot of oak trees and low green ferns.
There are several alternate trails that cut across the loop (well marked and legitimate ) so the hike can be customized to varying conditions if necessary.
The entrance to the trail is somewhat obscure and it required a walk from the car to confirm. The trails are well marked and numbered so navigation was simple. To locate the trailhead enter 9901 East 13th street. (Wexford- Missaukee Career Tech Center) It’s up the hill to the east of the parking lot.
Happy hiking.

Great for beginners. Terrain rangers from sandy, to rocky, to leaf covered, to uneven and full of tree roots. The path has signs to help you choose which path to take. The signs indicate the degree of difficulty of each path. Some paths are hilly, some paths are dense. None are difficult to maneuver. You can come back many times and take several different routes.

Great woods good for hiking. Some good hidden single tracks. Main trails have some hard long hills to climb.

Decent inclines throughout, fairly sandy. It's not marked anywhere but this is also a mountain bike trail.

Very smooth paved trail. Mostly flat with some small hills. Rode from Cadillac to Reed City a number of times in 2015. Variety of scenery with awesome colors in the fall.

A good easy ride, especially when riding to Reed City, plenty of open fields... once you pass 19 mile rd. So sunblock is a must. But when you head south, starting in Big Rapids and ride towards Grand Rapids its much more fun and challenging, and I think a better experience. You hear more wildlife, and its easier on your sunblock. Provides plenty of shade to rest and cool off. Now I havent ridden past Stanwood yet, but from BR to Stanwood its a great time.
