Lovely trail that was not at all busy in the late morning/early afternoon on a cold but partly sunny colorful Fall day. Occasional noise of leaf blowers when the trail passed by houses on dirt roads, but mostly quiet. I would rate the trail as somewhat easy when traversing it counter-clockwise. Perhaps it’s more moderate in the clockwise direction. I saw no bikes while I was hiking but in the mid-afternoon I saw a number of bicyclists starting out on a ride.

One of my all time favorites. Easy access. Well maintained. A little bit of everything.

Good trail but better to wear hiking boots than tennis shoes as it’s muddy and swampy in some places. Also, this time of year bring bug spray. Mosquitos were bad.

this was a nice trail, it was a bunch of smaller trails that make one big trail. witch some allowed bikes an hikiers an some only hikers. they have a big parking lot an plenty of facilities. lots of big trees casting alot of shade. the trails are groomed very well.

Really liked this trail, but a lot of bikers. Some followed the trail sharing rules by announcing their approach (“two coming on the left”) which works great=exactly how it is supposed to work. However a lot of bikers sneak up without announcing their approach or making any noise. Hey bikers, lets make trail experience great for all by sharing the trail.

This was a very beautiful trail. There was a lot to see and it was a gorgeous journey the whole way. Very easy too, so very relaxing. A lot of wildlife. Tons of chipmunks just scurrying across right in front of you. It ends up by the nature center, which was great too.

Good trail for beginner hikers. Mostly flat land but some incline and down hill. Trail goes around WildWing Lake. Nice dock at the end for bird viewing.

Always a pleasure to come out to the Penosha trail. The woods were beautiful at 9am this morning. Mosquitoes were bad, as one should expect in August after a rain. Trails were in good shape. Easy hike with many different ecosystems. A little buggy in the deep woods. Bathrooms near the trail head at the nature center. Tons of wildlife, chipmunks, turkeys, and cranes. Watch out for the cranes if they have their babies. One pecked my foot and chased me for a bit. That was probably my bad for wanting to continue on the trail. Other cranes were more agreeable, just stand still and let them walk around you. Loved the end walking along the lake!

Pros: Really nice hills, greats views, no bikes and peaceful area Cons: Very buggy, the trail takes you onto a road for a while and the cars were very stressful for our dogs

Great dog friendly trail that is closed off to bike traffic so totally safe! P.S. I have nothing against bikers, but this just felt less stressful.

Tight, narrow challenging biking trails! Keeps you on your toes with roots. You will brush up against a lot of weeds so be warned if you are susceptible to poison ivy etc. Only downfall is that the trail markings aren't clear, or not abundant enough. We go in a small group and we still get lost! Bummer to have to stop and figure out where to go.

Great place for trail running! I went out there today for the first time and I think it’s a gem in the middle of town! While out there it feels like you’re out in a remote trail in the woods. I did sprain my ankle two miles in but it kind of happens often (I just happen to have a left bad ankle) but I’m coming back next weekend to finish what I started. Highly recommend for trail running training or for a day hike!
