Beautiful views and well groomed trails.

Great hike! Took our kids and loved the hike before the lookout. Highly recommend

I took the advice of one of the reviewers. Went to the left and did the loop first. The view of the bay was worth waiting for. Lots of trails to negotiate, mountain bikes share this area as well. Not well sign posted. But stick to the widest path and you will stay on track. It’s a pretty walk. Not hard

beautiful well maintained trails.

Not a single trail is marked. Great being outside though! Beautiful trail!

I've lived in Michigan for two and a half years now and this is still one of my favorite hikes. The location is perfect and it's absolutely beautiful pretty much all year long. I hike it several times a week with my son throughout spring and summer, then we snowshoe it in the winter.

Try to get here during trillium season, there are huge patches throughout the woods. I try to get on this trail every May/June. It's a nice walk.

460+ steps up to one of the best views in Michigan. There's also a large park at the top worth exploring in the woods.

Great hike to scenic overlook of Boyne City & Lake Charlevoix. Next time we'll set aside more time and do the loop.

Beautiful view in the fall. Short trek up, but a fun little hike for the kids.

The 3rd week of October is ideal for fall colors!
Be advised it's a moderate hike if you are going around and up the multi mile trek or it's almost strenuous if taking the 450+ steps up. Thankfully they have two person benches every 50-75 steps. The view at the top is spectacular. Going later in the day positions the sun for good photos.

Lovely short run or hike. Just hilly enough and great views. Springtime is beautiful because the woods are full of Trillium. If you follow the outside trail around the Frisbee golf it is 2.4 miles. I did not follow the single track but also did not see any bikes so that might be an option for a longer distance. One mile from downtown Boyne City.

Where the red dot aka the location of the avalanche park is not where it is located. You have to drive until lake road dead ends then make a left. It was a quick and beautiful hike overlooking the lake and the town. A great place for sledding! If you're looking for a long hike I wouldn't come here.

462 steps up to a great view overlooking Boyne City and Lake Charlevoix. Worth making quick stop to stretch your legs if you are passing through this area. There is also a 5 mile mountain bike loop is a fun and somewhat challenging ride.

I grew up just a few 100 feet from the base. Locals also call it Barn Mountain or Death Mountain in the winter due to the high rate of serious sliding accidents in the winter. also known to claim the front teeth of a few mt. bikers braving a front decent straight down the middle.
But don't let that stop you from biking around great trails or taking the twisty stairs hiding in the woods to the right. the peak offers a rebuilt platform overlooking Boyne City and a large portion of Lake Charlevoix. Personally, the fall is when the hill and Boyne Valley truly shine.
