Don't let the beginning of this trail fool you into thinking it is going to be a struggle all the way. Once you get past the short rocky section the trail surface improves dramatically. This trail does not appear to be maintained although at one time someone did take the time to build some bridges and place a few blazes. The other major problem with this area is a tornado passed through the middle of the area causing the trails to end abruptly. This also makes the trails difficult to follow in some places.Show more

The trails are not well marked but in most places, they are easy to follow. As is typical in New England, there are old roads and stone walls throughout the area. There are also some possible stone foundations.Show more

NOTE: Hikers report that there is no trespassing after the first loop on the trail. This trail is blazed in blue. It begins at overgrown pasture along along Eastford Road, makes its way through wetlands, and then meanders along old logging roads. Show more
