Poorly marked/maintained trail. Repeatedly got lost and eventually turned around. View is amazing if you park at the overlook and lake is beautiful, but you don’t have to hike to see those things.

Nice hike but poorly marked trails led to many wrong turns. Our All Trails app saved us repeatedly!

Hiking

Simple, east trail partially on the car road, partially in the woods, here & there overlooking the Berry Pond which claims to be highest natural body of water in MA. Take it if you don’t have much time to hike, don’t want to break the sweat or have a company of older people with the mobility issues.

A good early morning hike through the woods. It is a decent workout but as other reviews have mentioned bugs are a nuisance. The trail is in need of some maintenance. Make sure you also visit the adjacent Shaker village.

Overall, a nice hike through the woods. As mentioned in other reviews, it is buggy, muddy and overgrown in spots, and the signage is a bit confusing at times. I can totally deal with those issues, but I really didn't like sharing parts of the trail with ATV's and motorcycles. Also, there was no summit (at least I didn't find one) which was disappointing, and the "waterfall" was a bit underwhelming.

EXTREMELY buggy. Normally I am used to bugs but they wouldn’t leave us alone even after we bathed in bug spray. It’s a nice trail but no good views, just a loop through the woods

ATTN: DO NOT ENTER THE PRIVATE PROPERTY! My son and I went for a hike on a rainy day but it was lovely and lots of flies. We spent about 40 minutes trying to find the entrance of the park which is not marked well. We ended up on private property with marked signs of no trespassing. The entrance of the trail is 50 feet before the private property. We only went halfway in because of the rain, I loved the scenery and the quietness and it was enough to really enjoy a beautiful afternoon.

3 of us ventured out to get to the summit. Unfortunately,we go a bit lost. 2 dirt bike riders got us going in the right direction towards the rt. 20 parking lot, near Hancock Village where we parked. Total hike for the day, over nine miles. Never got to the summit, but we all agreed super hike. We will hike these trails again, this time with a map, lol. Don't forget bug spray

Quiet, and the Taconic Crest had a nice breeze that helped on a hot day. The terrain was interesting on the Taconic side, although the ATV trail wasn’t great: a muddy road in the woods.

We did the main trail noted in AllTrails, with our 1year old in a hiking pack, we wanted something flat and quick to see how he'd like the outdoors without going too deep into the woods. There are a couple other branches to the path, and there might even be some longer ones, but we followed the clearest path available. Was a good walk, but there isn't much to call this a true hike.
