Nice hike but poorly marked trails led to many wrong turns. Our All Trails app saved us repeatedly!

Nice flat trail along the Chesire Resevoir. We went road biking but saw a lot of walkers, joggers, and rollerbladers. With areas of both shade and sun it was nice. Would recommend!

Beautiful day for a bike ride. All total today 14 miles! The first 6 from school street, we not recorded. I Started at School St and Circled around, Swamp Road to Summer and back on the Ashuwilltocook Trail.

WalkingGreat!

So beautiful, peaceful walk. There is a meadow, a lovely pond and 2 loops through woods, one of them with old and very tall evergreen tree. Most of the walk is shaded.

Hiking

Simple, east trail partially on the car road, partially in the woods, here & there overlooking the Berry Pond which claims to be highest natural body of water in MA. Take it if you don’t have much time to hike, don’t want to break the sweat or have a company of older people with the mobility issues.

It was beautiful! So many flowers, birds, and chipmunks! Only thing to note is there are very many bees (because of the flowers) and towards the end it is almost too thick to get through. Other that it was very enjoyable!

WalkingGreat!

This is a fantastic trail for any and all activities. We saw recumbent bikes, speed bikes, scooters, walkers, runners, and electric wheel chairs. It’s delightful. No hills. Paved path. Good for the whole family.

Nature trips

Beautiful trail that we ended up on coming down off Taconic Skyline Trail. The “trail” is the old Brickhouse Mtn Rd for the most part and the trailhead for anyone looking for it is directly adjacent to 40 Brickhouse Mount St and contrary to the other review, NOT on private property. There will be signs on both sides of the trail/road at the beginning (starts where Brickhouse Mount St ends) notifying you that venturing off the trail is trespassing but most of the trail is the border of Pittsfield State Forest.

We found this trail on a whim. Many more cyclists than walker but nice scenery. Walked a couple miles out then came back.

HikingGreat!

The rail trail itself was fantastic - will paved, wide, easy to walk, bike, skate, etc. I am an amputee who walks with crutches - I was hoping there would be more benches. The first one was 0.7 miles - a long haul for me. Second, would like to have seen some mileage markers. Third - very limited parking - we were lucky to not only find a spot, but a HC spot as well. Most people are following Covid-19 protocols, which is good to see. I happened to witness a marsh bird dive into said marsh and come barreling back out with a fish! Very cool. I love the fact that there is beauty everywhere, even though there is a major road 100 yards away. We visited on a SaturdaY late morning, and by the time we left, it was very busy. Weather was fantastic, so no surprise there. Would be nice if there were some way to find more parking. Loved it and hope to do it again next time we are in the area.

Great enjoyable nature trail hiking. Easy and a nice break from inclined hiking. These kinds of hikes are still great! Nice pond and wildlife, with lovely woods.
