Easy, sandy, grassy trail that takes you through Nantucket thick brush to open space that is beautiful scenic landscapes. Trail has cool information stops if interested and osprey nest. Fun 3 miles trek out to ocean and 3 mile back through natural unblemished Nantucket views.

It’s a very fast trail, amazing views. Cool trees and it also is in a great location.

Nice little wander around the bog. Super easy, very flat for strollers and maybe a little windy in the winter.

Ample parking.

There is no reason this trail is rated as moderate. It is wicked easy. We would bring out 2 year old to walk this trail- sometimes he hitched a ride- but you get the idea.

Very beautiful spot, strongly recommend this walk. Lots of wildflowers until about July. Lots of poison ivy and be sure to check for ticks!

Under the logs you may find some newts (or snakes)!

essentially a dog area near town. Lots of ticks.

Best to go in the winter during the day and have the place to yourself. Pretty enough but not the best trail on the island

Really enjoyed this 5.9. Easy and so pleasant with little surprises that come into view at various points--especially the ocean. I ran it in light fog which made it magical. Just an FYI: no one leashes their dogs and I had a few close encounters, including one big guy who bumped me sideways in the thigh.

This is a nice not very long hike suitable for children and dogs, the terrain is not very rough, with beautiful views along the trail. If you take the path to Squam farm you could have picnic somewhere on the grass when the temperatures are suitable for that kind of activity. Just remember be aware of the poison avy that grows in that area. You can observe different kinds of flora and fauna as well as taking photos of the surrounding countryside.

Not very impressed. Most of the maps for Montauk and Nantucket only show a marker for possibly the trail head but doesn't provide the actual trail.

It would be a great place to go for a walk. Running can be a little tricky at times due to the sand (which can be 3-4in deep in places). The grass seemed to well maintained to a below the ankle level. I will definitely be going back there next time I'm on the island.

It's not near Nantucket, it's on Nantucket. Near Nantucket would be in the Atlantic Ocean. It's a "lollipop trail"- that is there's a loop that starts a little ways out from the trailhead. There's a connector trail off the loop that goes to Squam Farm and more trails. I would rate it as EASY since there's almost no elevation variation. There should be interpretive brochures at the trailhead box. If not, check with the Nantucket Conservation Foundation.

This trail, like the rest nearby, are ON Nantucket not near Nantucket. If they were near Nantucket they would be in the water.

Meander trail is on spot. Lovely little trail that you can meander and stroll thru. Combonation of trails and farm road. You'll eventually come by the old Gardner cottage, which is locked. Near here is an osprey nest where a pair of ospreys are quick to let you know they are there. A few yards from here the trail veers off to the pond. A pair of swans and ther chicks swam by.

The trail eventually gets to a marshy area with catonine tails on both sides. This is an elevated, wood trail...part of which was covered with water. I decided not to chance an backtracked.

This right on Cliff Road. Was an old 9 hole golf course donated. The trail is easy and follows the rolling hills of the old course to the cliffs overlooking the Atlantic. From there you can see Jetties Beach, the entrance to the harbor and Great Point light house (if it's a clear day).

Easy trail (as are all trails on the island). The trail is actually made up of three different trails. You can choose to do all three or do the shorter loops. Beautiful views of the ponds and ocean. Trails have interpretive signs.
