This is one of my favorite properties. Parked in the Noon Hill parking area and headed over the dam and around Holt pond to the cut-thru. Crossed Causeway Street and headed straight down to the Charles River (awesome horseshoe bend at this location). The light and views were terrific this morning! Continued clockwise out of the pine forest and thru the maple forest then to the candy cane forest to another river viewing spot. Several options on the return. So sweet!

A real treat! Started south on the Bay Circuit Trail then took in the Charles River at the horseshoe. Crossed Main Street next and visited with all those restful souls in the historic Medfield State Hospital Cemetery. Continued north to the Bill Martin Field but no airplanes were being flown today. Returned via the colonial era hay fields that surround the area. Very nice area!

It’s a tarred road, it not a walk in the woods

Really nice loop. Some bushwacking involved but you can avoid this if you want. A really impressive property. Go for it! Enjoy!

Plenty of parking at the Wheelock School. Started down paved road to right of soccer fields. Worked my way over to the town water well then turned back, no Mine Brook crossing in that area. Continued to south side of property thwarted initially by a NY-New Haven train coming down tracks. Crossed tracks then took in most of the trails, including the Bay Circuit trails, offered including the "rabbit ears" single track off-shoot trails. Nice, flat with some small hills property with open fields, GREAT for dog walking!

Great views and very well maintained but the markings are unclear at times and you might get turned around. Good for dogs but most are off leash.

Beautiful hike! Pond with beaver activity was awesome! Trails were well marked. Did have to pay $5 to park (well worth it)!

liked it. would eliminate the small loop at end. Not the best marked in that part. Add loop around Holt pond instead.

Very nice forest trek. Parked on quiet Pond Street and started down the back of Rocky Woods via the Wilson Swamp Trail. I never knew there was so much more to explore down into Medfield. I've been avoiding the trail turn-off in that direction for years thinking there wasn't much down that way. The Woodcliff Hills Trail brings you down into the Parkinson Property then on to the Medfield Park & Rec operated Hinckley Pond. Very nice marshy area on route and tranquil forests. A must do, must see!

Very nice walk,
Shelby gives it 3 paws

Was ok. Not really challenging but nice nonetheless. Be sure to check out all the trees that the beavers toppled. Pretty cool.

Nice way to take in both Rocky Woods and the Trustees Fork Factory Brook properties. Be careful crossing the street!

A "just do it" kind of day with Tropical Storm Jose just off the coast of New England throwing plenty of wind and rain our way. The trees were swaying and the rain was pouring but it didn't dampen my spirits much. No views from Cedar Hill and all the wildlife was hunkered down so it was just a nice trail run/walk.

A nice trek for sure. It's always cool to see what the beaver's are up to on Echo Lake. They have downed about 50 trees to make their home, amazing. I took a little detour up Cedar Hill Knoll to check out the gorge. I love that area. Got ambushed by a little golden retriever...so cute!

What a great property. Did a nice loop today and enjoyed catching up with all the hard work the beavers are doing on the pond. Wow, they have sharp teeth. Continued up Mine Hill and around and then up Cedar Hill for a bit more exercise. Came down the Cedar Hill and Noanet trails past the camping spots back to my car. A perfect day!

A great trail run today in Shattuck. Parked in the shared area then went straight down to the river. What a great day! Continued down the trail that is shared with the Bay Circuit Trail. Discovered a new way further north to an old road that once crossed the Charles. The road was a bit overgrown but the views were worth it. Looks like you could drop a canoe in there or, more conveniently, on the other side of the river. I continued back through the woods to the park area. A wonderful trek!

Had a great run today. Parked out in the field near the entrance as some construction is going on currently at the Hospital property. Ran down the trail leading to the Charles River then around and up to the Dover-Sherborn wilderness X/C track. Came around the east side of the Medfield State Hospital property and passed the water tower on my way down to the soccer fields. Kind of wet and mucky today but, as usual, a great trail run.

This is a really nice, quiet area. Adjacent to the organic community farm, this property is managed by the Trustees of Reservations. There is ample parking on the Rocky Woods side of the property, be careful crossing the road as cars come flying by. I keep a few honeybee hives on the edge of this property. It's safe to walk past them just try and stay out of the honeybees flight path. It's nice to walk all the way down to the mill site to see where our ancestors used to make pitchforks back in colonial times. There is also a nice prominent ledge with limited views over the marsh and down toward the farm. A small area but very nice!

So once you get off of the main gravel road like trail the trails are amazing. They get narrow and slightly technical right around noon hill. However, I went with my two leashed dogs and we were literally the only leashes dogs. The other dogs were all off leash and not under good voice control at all. So please note this if you're expecting leashed dogs
