Great trail and plenty of signs they even point out relaxing areas and poison ivy!! However extremely buggy, and way too many rocks in some areas lightly twisted my ankle twice.

Great trail. I've been walking it since I was a young child with my father and not to mention it's a great place to relax and catch some fish as well! There are some muddy areas and lots of bugs but if you're into nature, this is your ideal beginner trail.

nice and easy beginner trail! great chance to explore the side rails, everyone in this trail is extremely friendly and nice!! This might be my beginner trail for running!!!

Be prepared to get surrounded by bugs! I had repellent on and these things did not care!

this is honestly one of my favorite trails in Andover. the trail i easy and flat most of the way. you can go either straight through from haggots pond road to highplain road or you can venture off into little side trials that link back to the main trial. you wont need to worry about getting lost and the trail is pretty well populated most days. I recommend bringing your dog ( alot of people let their dogs off leash here even though its illegal just so you know)

this trail is fairly empty most of the time I hike it. it starts of with a steep down hill slope you reach the bottom of the slope then you ca. choose to go left or right and you will eventually loop back. that being said be prepared to finish your hike walking up hill. theres a picnic table on trail and I also recommend bringing bugspray.

it's a nice trail and its marked fairly well. I would recommend downloading the map for it. the one issue I have with this trail is you can see two large apartment complexes from it and it can really take you put of being in nature. but it's a great hike that has some steep slopes. I recommend hiking boots not sneakers.

Pleasantly surprised! I have lived near this trail my whole life and never walked it (besides a few HS parties way back in the day...heh heh heh!). Nice walk with some gentle hills and a little bird sanctuary area at the back of the property. Blue Heron trail took about an hour. Not a great location...off a major road and at times trail comes close to neighboring homes...can hear road noise pretty much throughout.. and certainly not a place I would make a special trip to....but if in the area with an hour to spare....it is a nice little walk. Low lying areas very icy

It was ok, nothing to make me want to go back.

Make sure you know to come back out the same way you go in! As you get deeper into the trail, the paths narrow and you can get lost. Not good signage around or marks. Pretty flat. Near the rear of the trail, lots of flying bugs, so bring some repellent

The trail is easy. There are currently trees down so we had to do some swerving around. Due to rain there are some parts that are muddy. I didn't like this trail mainly because it does not loop around so at some point you have to walk on the street which has no sidewalks. There also seems to be a lot of ticks on the trail. My dog was leashed so it's not like she went off path. I was able to dust off several, but had to pull 2 ticks out with tweezers. Overall, I see potential once spring is in full swing, but I don't see myself coming here again. Like I said, you have to walk on the street to get back to your car.

Really good trail!! I just moved to the area a few months ago and have been looking for a place to walk. This trail mostly goes right alongside the water so it’s pretty and peaceful. There are smaller trails off of the main trail if you want to explore a bit. It’s great!

Den Rock Park consists of well-maintained hiking/walking trails. The Shawsheen River runs along the Northwestern Blue Heron trail and other points of interest include a large stone cliff in the east of the park and a number of plank bridges that allow access over marshy areas in the southeast.
