Awesome view on the ledges. Don’t forget to stop at the memorial for a B 17 flight crew and service members that perished in a crash in 1946

What a peaceful, beautiful place to take a walk. Really enjoy it and will most definitely go again.

Nice place for a walk and not too many bugs and cool to walk in between bodies of water.

perfect place for a relaxing walk or bike ride ✌

loved it as a kid and thirty years later too

Fairly easy and short hike. Great view! Also dog friendly which is perfect for us!

The views of easthampton are spectacular!

did it for the first time, and I was great

A great trail to get some cardio on. Expect a steep incline for the first 2.5 miles and then a beautiful traverse with some small rock scrambles.

I love it

Great short hike with rewarding views!

Awesome view points. Worth it

Hard trail but well worth it. I took my dog and she did fine. Be prepared for some steeps climbs. Views are amazing

We did this hike a little different and we had a great time. great views and rock formations. It was worth the trip. Check out my full write up along with some things to look out for.

Walked the loop with my hiking friend. Such a beautiful area. Quiet, sunny, and wide open. Sparkling water, on all sides. One strip of land laid out on the water as a miniature replica of the key west 7 mile bridge. Such a great place- makes you feel lost from the world.

One of my favorite local hikes. Along the way there is a point where you get a great view of the Holyoke Resevoir on the right as you get closer to the monument. The last few times I took this trail there was some orange snow fence stretched across the trail saying it was closed for habitat protection.

awesome peaceful hike

Exactly as the descriptor for 2 stars says: “Meh. Nothing to write home about.” But we went on this hike a few days before Christmas. Wasn’t very pretty and I honestly didn’t find the views all too impressive; the trail is lined with radio and cell towers, and there is graffiti all over the rocks. The descent was precarious as it was littered with downed leaves, ice, mud, and loose rocks, but we made it. The starting climb from 141 was definitely a decent little workout, though. The rock scrambles were fun.

Hike this trail yearly especially in Fall. Love the ever changing VIEWS along the way...

It’s best to do this hike from the opposite end of the loop rather than the way it’s described. Drive into the state park rather than parking your car route 141. That way the views get gradually better and better as you go along.

It’s definitely one of the best hikes in the Amherst area. Great views to the west. The volcanic rock is really interesting breaking off into geometric bits. The only downsides are the radio towers at the summit and the graffiti on some of the rocks.

Grew up hiking this trail, always my favorite to do at least once a year especially in the fall. There are so many spots to catch a great view on your way up too.

Very pretty. I didn't take the whole trial because it was overgrown w/ long grass beyond the water in places, but if you had long pants, it would be fine. I stuck to the trail that circled the water & it was 1-1.5 miles, varying in ease of the actual path. If you are looking at the water from the road, the path on the left of the water is much bumpier, w/ hills & roots, while the path on the other side is flatter and well-maintained. There are a couple places to sit near the water, as well as a few picnic tables & grills nearby. I've hiked Mt Tom countless times, but found out about this trail through this app & love it cuz it's a nice short walk for after work, esp since sunset is getting earlier. Make sure to park outside the gate on Reservation Rd (from the Holyoke side) if you will be there after 6pm, so you don't get locked inside & have the call the state troopers, like the people we saw last time we went.

Love Ashley. Very pretty water views. It feels like you are in the middle of nature, although it is not very remote & easy to get to. You can also take several different paths, so the distance can be changed. When I take the long loop, staying right as you walk in, then along the outer edges & back through the middle, straight, it is approx 4 miles & takes around an hour, walking at a fast pace. It is a mostly flat, gravel path, good for kids and beginners. The geese can be aggressive in the spring w/ their babies, but are generally easy to avoid. Their mess is harder to dodge in the early warm months. It's fun for a bike ride too.
