I enjoyed this trail even though it was not the trail I intended to follow. Just follow the yellow blazes! The trail was easy to follow. There were a few scrambles but nothing too difficult. I would do this trail again.

Parking area is currently closed, I use the lot at the nearby school. A couple flooded areas, but nothing you can't easily get around. No bugs, which was nice.

Road biking along the Essex county scenic byway. It’s beautiful, need to be comfortable biking on busy roads.

This was a nice hike to look at something different and take a leisurely stroll. The boulders are fun to find (some are down short paths) and the history is pretty cool (there are barcodes for Q scanners along the trail). The access road is closed but driving a little more and entering by the communications tower (Blackburn Dr.) makes for a scenic hike by the reservoir. Be careful on the railroad tracks - they are in use.

Decent trail if you’re looking for a casual walk in the woods. Some mild hills but overall relatively flat. No scenic overlooks and not much to see other than the boulders with random words carved into them. Access road was closed, likely due to pandemic - everyone just parked on the main road.

no parking on Forest Lane

Couldn’t find the trailhead - I think the GPS coordinates are mislabeled

Beautiful. Open skies and sandy soil. Birch trees and cool boulders. Would NOT recommend the add on 1-mile across and back over the railroad tracks. Stay on this mapped loop.

Such a fun hike! Since it snowed yesterday and rained a bit this week there were a few unavoidable mud and water puddles. We did the whole loop in 2 hours and 15 mins. It’s a really beautiful area.

Trail is clear of blow downs well marked and mostly dry all year. It crosses several brooks with dry ford stones for crossing. it does parallel a highway for some distance so if your dog ranges far you may want to leash it for that portion. there are several clear areas for picnics. there is no trash other than along the highway. great hike. 1,5 hrs moving along 2 hours if you dally.

no parking which stinks parked at elmetary school. little mud, not too hilly, fun

this loop trial is a great 4 mile walk through beautiful woods around a reservoir. it is accessible from a few locations and great all year round. there is a high point called Mount Ann the highest point in Gloucester. there are several beautiful spaces such as clearings or high bald rocks for picnicking, also there is fishing available.

Great hike. Started right off the highway and did a few extra loops. Great view at the top of Avalon. Pretty easy hike

it’s a labyrinth without the app, not really any nice lookouts, good workout.

Good for social distancing. We passed only 10 or so groups the whole loop. A little hard to follow at times so a map (this one) with GPS is very helpful. Narrow stream to cross in a couple spots. Not a big deal.

Easy to get lost. Make sure to use all trails. Lots of little trails. But really nice an unexpected terrain. Boulders, bridges and some really neat Mt biking ramps.

Great, long hike with dogs! Nice varied terrain, interesting boulders, and clean moving water in parts. No views. Kiosk maps at entrance, but no physical maps available. Lack of signage and trail markers give this site only 3 stars. If not for the AllTrails map we would probably still be in the woods ;)
