This is another hike in the Callahan State Park. This area of the park is more 'wilderness' trails. They tend to be narrower trails with steeper and rockier sections. Overall, still fairly easy hiking. There are several trails criss-crossing the area, all fairly well-marked, however trail names are often difficult to find. There are a few maps located along the trails to help orientation. Beebe pond as well as the meadow above the pond are very picturesque.Show more

3-4 mile hike through Callahan State Park, Framingham, MA This is just one of many routes that are possible through Callahan State Park. There are trails that criss-cross throughout the park and the adjacent Sudbury Conservation Land. The first trail - Pipeline - is probably the steepest trail along the hike. The trails are well marked, and there are trail maps placed through-out to help. Most of the trails are wide and pretty level, and dogs are allowed on many of them. The trails wind through both pine and hardwood forests. There is one small pond and several wetland areas to explore. Don't be surprised if you come across some dogs, especially around the pond. Also, horseback riding is allowed within the park. It is possible to follow the Pipeline trail directly back the the parking lot and avoid the Baiting Brook section. Some sections of the Baiting Brook trails are narrower than those found elsewhere in the park.Show more

Nice 500+ acre forest just south of the Framingham line and behind the Framingham Golf Course. The power line runs through the property and there is a huge water tank in the southeast corner with very nice graffiti. Interesting history too, during colonial times witches from Salem would take shelter here in the caves. Show more
