Great hike that we continue to return to again and again. Close to the house and varied terrain with some good elevation makes this a quick and easy workout that leaves a good burn.

I just started trail riding and I stumbled across this little pump track it was perfectly groomed and great for beginners or even more advanced Riders the trails around this little track or a little on the tough side lots of roots and rocks but this track is like a Hidden Gem

Great place to go for a quick hike! Easy trail, simple to follow, my dog loved it!

It's not that big, but it's one of my favorite places to ride. There are a few awesome windy, flowy singletrack trails of decent length, some great climbs and descents, a fun pump track, and you can go after dark up until 8pm I believe. It's also not a bad place for a short hike and snowshoeing, which I was doing there last week. Oh, did I say it was small? Well, it's pretty much connected (very short ride through a residential neighborhood to get there) to another small town forest that has some really fun short and windy singletracks...from there, it's a short 1/4 mile ride to Billerica State Forest which has some more really fun, windy and flowy singletrack loops of decent length...and it's short and easy access from Russell Mill to Great Brook Farm State Park which I've read also has great singletrack MTB trails (I've only hiked there). Russell Mill might not be huge, but combined with the other trail networks I've mentioned, you could easily get an incredibly fun and challenging 15-20 mile, and probably longer, ride that didn't cover too much trail more than once. For all of those reasons, Russell Mill is easily 5 stars in my book.

I've done this loop many evenings after work. Good walk through the woods with some easy ups and downs and it's a great place for dogs and small kids. There are a couple old very small mines/quarries to explore, but the reservation is small and is generally good for an hour or so of exercise, but it's not what I'd call a day trip or hike. Going around twice (or more) at a quick pace is a great workout.

I wish it was longer! Easy, pretty, my dog and I loved it and will go again.

It was great. I enjoyed running in it.

Pretty lake view, more bike friendly than hiker but bikers are respectful

It's a nice walk in the woods.
There are a few different trails you can take to make it longer or shorter.

We enjoyed this trail on a fairly warm June morning. Lots of woodpeckers (flicker, hairy, downy, nuthatch - the usual folks) chipmunks, squirrels and a frogs. This is a lovely walk along the water & into the woods. As walkers, we are wary of locations that are good for mountain biking, but without exception, the mountain bikers we met today were friendly, courteous and helpful with trail information. It was easy to share this lovely trail with them.

Cool trail. Def seems to be more of a mountain biking trail. Seems like a cool one as well. It's a loop, but can feel like a maze. There are lots of smaller trails that loop off the main trail. Everything seems to end up back where you started, but it can be a bit confusing. But a cool trail, no doubt.

beautiful walk in the woods, but if you were expecting to see/ hear a lot of birds;you won't find it here. I recommend coming here for exercise.

Easy walk tonight after Easter Dinner! Way to wind down!

Great afternoon walk! Very little stress. Lots of birds! Enjoyed!

Trails loop around and abut two quarry pits. Hiking into and exploring the dugouts and shallow caves formed by the quarries poses no serious danger. The highest point of the pits is accessible and should be explored with caution as drop offs into the quarry pit exist.
