with this called the Freedom trail, I expected it to follow the freedom trail which it does when it wants to. I personally detoured from the trail due to the time I was out and areas were not yet open, construction was in the way at points (making the city better), and I started in the middle so shortcut back to my starting point. I suggest not following this route and enjoy the red brick road!

Nice little loop around the fort and the harbor. The hours to tour the actual fort are very limited. This is a fun walk especially if you combine it with other sections of the harbor walk.

Belle Isle Marsh is an urban preserve that contains the last of the saltmarshes that were once prevalent along the coast near Boston. It contains a short loop path of less than a mile, along with some boardwalks and a wooden viewing tower. We started along the flat gravel path and made our way into the marsh. We visited under gray skies but the contrasting colors were still striking. We were surprised to see other visitors, but it appears to be a popular spot for joggers and dog walkers. Belle Isle Marsh is a scenic spot, but probably best seen under blue skies. But if you come in the summer, be prepared with high-test repellant containing DEET. The saltmarsh mosquitoes here are especially vicious, as we found out earlier in August, when we came unprepared and were driven out by the bugs. We visited and reviewed all state parks in MA. A must if you’re in Boston.

One of the best city park walks I’ve ever done! Fantastic! Beats Central Park, IMO.

Great, easy, paved walking path. Summer sunsets here are incredible.

Schöner geschichtlicher Weg durch Boston.

Stars are for the fall foliage. Flat, easy to walk, very pretty but that’s about it

Must do! I can’t recommend more. Just do it!

Definitely the coolest trail I’ve done that’s not a nature trail. The history comes alive during your walk and you’ll see many National Park sites! If you’re in Boston this is the #1 thing you must do!

One of the coolest parts of Boston. Be sure to visit the Holocaust remembrance, the USS Constitution, and the Union Oyster House! There’s a good smoothie place around there too, but I can’t remember the name of it. There was a lot of construction but it was all easy to maneuver.

Great place to walk your dog. Well trained, friendly dogs are off leash, less friendly dogs are kept on leash.

Although this is only listed as a 2 1/2 mile trail past 16 sites key in US history, this short and easy hike can take the best part of a full day in downtown Boston. Add the nearly 300 steps up the Bunker Hill monument and all side hikes and tours and expect 5 mile day. Awesome.

I’m

Worth taking the tour. Very entertaining.

fun trail through the city of Boston. this is a mix of dedicated bike Lanes and crossings through major intersections. Better in the earlier part of a weekend due to traffic, both people and vehicle kind during a beautiful day.

I work in Boston and walking through or just a break after work is great! New Years Family fireworks are great! 7:00 pm

Amazing urban historical trail. I recommend the self guided audio tour that uses an app on your phone. You can get all the information at the visitors center.
