Love this place, lots of nice little trails you can connect to make longer loops. Very nice scenery, quiet, not crowded at all at 1pm on a Thursday.

Really beautiful trail to walk and nice that it connects to so many options and has varied hills and woods and paths.

great for trail running with my kid. Mostly flat/low hills. Scenery varies quickly from woods to meadow. Awesome old water tower.

I did pretty much the entire western Greenway Omitting only lone tree hill. I started at rock meadow and wound my way all the way to the Layman estate before taking a shortcut back via Forest Street. The Belmont and Lexington side (north of Trapelo Road) we’re pretty flat, once you cross into Waltham and Shadys pond, there’s a good bit more elevation change, but still nothing extreme. Just enough to get your heart beating a little bit. By walking up Forest Street, you can make it back to the rock Meadow parking lot in less than an hour making the whole trip only about 3 1/2 hours instead of a 5 to 6 hour out and back trail. This is a really great system of trails And well worth a morning or afternoon.

Make sure to hit alewife brook parkway - some really cute areas and animals.

Known as Rock Meadow (on the Belmont side) it is an easy hike with kids. Pretty. The down side? Tons of dogs off leash and lots of poop bags that owners don’t throw away. Gross

Was more of a bike lane for commuters and had a cute area for families and strollers. Was a bit crowded for social distancing. I liked that it was paved for the bikers with lanes painted.

Easy and clear path. Was quiet for a afternoon stroll (probably busier on weekends). Had a cool water tower.

Moderately trafficked. Lots of intersecting trails. Easy to get mixed up. Pretty with an ice field.

Really enjoyed this trail. The open field would be great to fly a kite. Next time. Beautiful trees.

Love coming here when I visit my 94 year old aunt who lives right by the trailhead. Would love to see some more control of invasive bittersweet and watch nature take it from there! Lots of oaks.

nice easy hiking. pretty level ground. muddy in spots but nothing to deter you.

great hike for beginners. fairly level ground. Hard to get lost even your first time there. some of the trails near the perimeter of the reserve need upkeep, so stick to the interior trails if you dont want to be bounding over down trees.

Nice place for a leisurely stroll. Can spend 30 minutes or 2 hours. Fall colors are awesome!

Nice winter snowy walk.

Very easy walking trails suitable for all, especially young hikers. They are not paved but some are accessible to walkers and wheelchairs.
